Sugar Busters Review

What You Should Know

Sugar Busters is a diet program with information spread over many different websites. The Sugar Busters diet follows the principle that when people eat anything that is full of sugar, insulin is produced which may stop you from losing weight. According to the Sugar Busters diet, the answer is very simple. Stop eating sugar.

The less sugar you eat, the less insulin will be produced and this diet claims that will help your body be able to lose more weight, more rapidly. The problem is, carbs are full of sugars so you will have to severely cut down your intake of breads and pastas also. The overall ratio recommended by this diet is 30 percent protein, 30 percent carbohydrates, and 40 percent fat. If that looks familiar, it’s because this is very similar to the South Beach diet and the Zone.

Ingredients

None.

Product Features

The Sugar Buster diet makes a lot of good points. Foods that contain refined sugars are harder for the body to process and do increase the production of insulin. This could eventually lead to complications such as diabetes. The problem is, there isn’t really any proven information that links insulin as a substance that prevents weight loss.

This diet is supposed to run for 14 days and at the end, you will have lost a few pounds. If you stick to the diet, you will lose more and more weight as time goes by. You are allowed to eat as much fish, chicken, nuts, and dairy that you want but no rice, bread, pasta, or even some fruits. Restrictive diets like this can be very difficult for people to stick to for any length of time and may be unhealthy in the long run.

Advantages

  • If you eliminate sugar from your diet, you may be able to lose more weight.
  • This diet is similar to some popular diets such as Atkins and The Zone.

Disadvantages

  • It isn’t proven that insulin will make you gain weight or prevents you from losing it.
  • This diet is moderately restrictive.
  • You can’ t eat some foods.
  • There doesn’t seem to be a comprehensive single website for this diet.
  • This diet isn’t an option for vegans and vegetarians.

Conclusion

The Sugar Busters diet seems like it might appeal to those who found the Atkins diet a little bit too restrictive but basically follows similar principles. Cutting sugar from your diet may help you lose weight no matter what because sugary foods are typically high in calories anyway. If you have high cholesterol or a history of heart disease, you may want to stay away from this and similar diets that encourage a high intake of protein and fat as it could be dangerous for you.
