We have grown to realize that many of the supplements with ephedra are still on the market. These supplements are not formulated by mainstream companies with the FDA spotlight on sales. Products like Superdrine are formulated and sold by small, obscure companies no one has ever heard of. That may lower the radar a bit, but eventually the FDA will find the companies and pull the supplements from the market if they contain real ephedra.

Product Features

There are six ingredients dieters can bet on every time when a supplement like Superdrine claims to contain ephedra. It’s as if the same company is formulating blank bottles and selling them to companies for labeling purposes. The six ingredients are ephedra, caffeine, guarana, bitter orange and white willow bark. Often, the company will throw in L-Tyrosine to counteract the effect of all that stimulation.

Ephedra is a banned stimulant proven to boost metabolism and increase weight loss. Caffeine is paired with ephedra to prolong the effect so the dieter can take less and feel more. Guarana is another stimulant that has mild negative side effects, but those side effects may be enhanced when guarana is paired with other stimulants. Bitter orange is the cousin to ephedra, but it is not proven to boost weight loss like its cousin. White willow bark is the final ingredient in the ECA stack. E is ephedra, C is caffeine and A is aspirin or white willow bark.

Why was ephedra banned by the FDA for two reasons. The supplement ingredient caused negative side effects, including death, for some users. It is also addictive, which can lead to problems with heart and organ function with increased use. The other reason it was banned was because ephedra can be used to cook meth. Meth is a street drug that is highly addictive.

If we were reviewing this supplement when ephedra was legal, we would come to the same conclusions. Ephedra carries a large risk of dangerous side effects. Dieters should not consume supplement that cause more risk than benefit. Superdrine is not a safe alternative to proven, safe weight loss products.
