What You Should Know
Tetrazene is a Bioquest supplement that claims to be clinically verified to increase weight loss. We have read these terms on the official website of many supplements that went on to list no clinical reviews or list reviews that had nothing to do with the supplement, but just one ingredient in the formula. We could find no official website for Bioquest supplements or the company, so there are no links to back up the clinically proven claim.
List of Ingredients
Vitamin B6, Biotin, Tetrazene Proprietary Blend: KGM-90 (super-Class Pharmaceutical-Grade Glucomannan), Glutamine and Olive Leaf Extract. ES-50 Proprietary Blend: L-Tyrosine, Camellia Sinensis (Green Tea Leaf Extract, Standardized for EGCG and Caffeine), Pharmaceutical-Grade Caffeine and Vinpocetine.
The ingredient list starts with B vitamins. These are used in the body for energy conversion and have no toxicity level so they are common ingredients in many weight loss supplements. Then, the ingredient list moves into a proprietary blend. Proprietary blends never reveal ingredient amounts, so dieters have to guess about how much of each ingredient is included. Most often, the first ingredient is the most highly concentrated and in this case, that is Glucomannan. Glucomannan is a fiber that absorbs water or liquid in the stomach, supposedly blowing up so the dieter does not feel hungry. Glucomannan has not been proven a successful appetite suppressant.
Next is glutamine and olive leaf extract. Glutamine is an amino acid that synthesizes protein. Olive leaf extract is a strong anti-oxidant more potent than green tea and vitamin C. We could not find a proven link to weight loss for either ingredient.
When we move onto the ES-50 proprietary blend, we find the real source of increased metabolism – stimulants. Tetrazene ES-50 contains green tea, caffeine and Vinpocetine, three stimulants. While we love the fact that green tea is included, we still have no idea how much and with green tea caffeine levels on top of straight caffeine and Vinpocetine, there could be an issue with jitters and caffeine shakes. Not a great way to lose weight and not very effective as caffeine effects tend to wear off over time with more being needed to maintain that caffeine buzz. Tetrazene ES-50 sells for $31.99 from an outside website.
- Green tea works to curb appetite and reduce hunger.
- Caffeine can stimulate heart rate burning more calories.
- All ingredients are part of a proprietary blend.
- Multiple stimulants tend to cause negative side effects.
Tetrazene ES-50 is not a strong weight loss contender. The ingredient list is not complete as no amounts are listed and we could not find an official website. These two factors are enough for us to give Tetrazene ES-50 a thumbs down.
