The Biggest Loser Protein Review
What You Should Know
The Biggest Loser is one of the most successful weight loss programs to hit American TV. Contestants who are morbidly obese contend for prize money in exchange for losing weight. Out of the show’s popularity has come a long line of supplements, workout videos and meal replacement shakes, including The Biggest Loser Protein. On the front of the canister, you will typically find a star or winner from the contest and inside, protein powder that is supposed to help people lose more weight.
List of Ingredients
Whey Protein, Prebiotic Fiber, Calcium.
NBC and The Biggest Loser Protein should go back and rethink the product descriptions online. We could not find a complete list of ingredients for this product though it should be a given because stimulants or secret ingredients are not used in protein powders. Prebiotic powder, whey protein and calcium are listed – but we would like to see what kind of sweetener is included or preservatives thrown in for good measure.
What we can tell dieters is each serving contains 50 calories, far less than a typical protein powder. There is only one gram of sugar and one gram of fat, but six whopping grams of fiber. Combine the high fiber content with calcium, proven to nearly double weight loss over time, and you have a good protein alternative.
Protein shakes are very popular during weight loss because natural sources of protein, like meat and beans, are often laden with fat and extra calories. Portion control can also be difficult. Instead of grilling a tiny piece of chicken, many dieters choose to use shakes like The Biggest Loser Protein in place of real meat.
Dieters have good and bad things to say about The Biggest Loser Protein. Many complain the 10-ounce canister size is far smaller than they expected for the price. NBC charges $15.95 per canister. There are also a few complaints that the powder tastes chalky – common with protein shakes. The positives, however, are very good. Dieters claim to love some of the flavors like chocolate and raspberry and use the protein as part of their morning smoothie.
- Protein is a fantastic addition to any diet.
- The cost is comparable to other designer whey though dieters are not happy about the price.
- Mixes well.
- Unique flavors.
- No ingredient list could be found online.
There is always a place for products like The Biggest Loser Protein in weight loss. With only 50 calories per serving, we can assume the shake contains less than 9 grams of protein per serving, but adding the powder to a variety of shakes every day can up protein amounts fast. The cost is high for consumers, but we found it comparable. There are no stimulants, however, so dieters will not have fat burning support.
