What You Should Know
Thermo-Lyn is a stimulant fat burner is every definition of the term. There is a ton of caffeine and other stimulants in the formula and no mention of an appetite suppressant. The sole function of this supplement is to raise the heart rate to force calorie burn, but there are side effects that come with taking such a strong stimulant. The formula could cause hypertension, jitters, shakes and nausea. There is no warning in the product description despite the known side effects of taking strong stimulants. PEA is also part of the ingredient list and PEA is known to interact with depression and anxiety medications.
List of Ingredients
- White Willow Bark Extract
- Tyrosine AKG
- Red Raspberry Ketone
- Yohimbe Bark Extract
- Cayenne Pepper
- Ginger Root Extract
- Methyl Synephrine
- Ginkgo Biloba
- Siberian Ginseng
The product label for Thermo-Lyn clearly states how much caffeine is in the supplement – 300 mg. Taking 300 mg of caffeine is equivalent to drinking about four cups of coffee simultaneously. The dieter will notice the change in energy within 15 minutes, but they will also notice side effects soon after. It takes 12 hours for caffeine to clear the body so taking this supplement within 12 hours of bedtime could cause restless sleep.
In addition to the extreme amount of caffeine, Thermo-Lyn also contains yohimbe, guarana and methyl synephrine. These three ingredients are also stimulants. Methyl synephrine is of particular concern because the ingredient is known to cause similar side effects to ephedra. If the dieter suffers from hypertension or is taking medications to control blood pressure, they should not take this supplement.
With all those stimulants running through the body, hunger is bound to increase. As the body burns more calories, the brain signals hunger to replace those calories. Without an appetite suppressant ingredient, the dieter will feel more hunger and eat more, theoretically offsetting the calorie burn.
