What You Should Know
Thermoloss, from Vitamin Research Products, is a weight loss supplement with tons of green tea (in a proprietary blend) and not much else. The product description is just as short as the ingredient list, but at least the company claims research supports green tea – something most supplement manufacturers leave out of the product descriptions. We were only able to find one small mistake on the ingredient list other than the fact that dieters can find the same dose of green tea in supplements formulated with other research-supported weight loss ingredients.
List of Ingredients
- Green Tea Phytosome
- Acetyl-L-Carnitine HCI
- L-Carnitine L-Tartrate
Though Biotin is listed first on the ingredient list, the major ingredient in the formula is Green Tea Phytosome. Green Tea Phytosome is a combination of green tea leaf and soy phospholipid complex. We know the blend has 400 mg, but we don’t know how much of that is green tea and how much is soy phospholipid complex. Every other ingredient in the formula is transparent – complete with amounts for each ingredient, but the one proven ingredient in the mix is packed in a proprietary blend.
We also reviewed the brief product description and found another problem. The bottle contains 60 capsules (priced at about $25) but the optimal dose is two capsules twice a day. That means one bottle will only last 15 days or about two weeks. As is the case with any natural supplement, you have to take the supplement for four to six weeks to feel the full effects. You can’t even make it one month with Thermoloss.
- The ingredients are listed online.
- Thermoloss contains green tea and admits there is research supporting the ingredient.
- No dangerous ingredients.
- One bottle only lasts two weeks.
- The amount of green tea in the Thermoloss formula is not revealed.
- Dieters can get the same green tea benefit from other supplements with better ingredients.
Thermoloss will cost the dieter around $50 a month for the weight loss benefits of green tea. We are not sold on that price, though we admit we love green tea as a weight loss ingredient. We suggest looking for green tea packaged with other healthy ingredients like natural appetite suppressants and a bit of caffeine. Even though Thermoloss appears affordable you have to look at total suggest intake per day before you can judge whether or not a supplement is really a deal. In this case, you are paying $50 a month for a supplement that costs much less in your local grocery store.
