The Think & Lose program promises to deliver weight loss results without any effort on the part of the dieter other than listening to the program CDs. Think & Lose relies on the power of hypnosis to offer suggestions to the listener’s subconscious mind and to fundamentally change the way the mind thinks about food. It promises a reduction in food cravings, feelings of fullness halfway through a meal, and a new desire for healthy foods rather than junk food. However, it does not give participants any specifics about how to make healthy food choices or introduce a fitness routine.

Think & Lose was developed by hypnotherapist Dan Mannarino, a member of the North American Association for the Study of Obesity. His program has been used in conjunction with the American Heart Association as well as other health organizations and hospitals.

Think & Lose is available only from the official website at a cost of $39.95 for the initial program. Customers can try the program free for 30 days. Additional CDs can be purchased by returning customers. Each new customer will also receive a sample of the Thin & Slim supplement to try for free.

List of Ingredients

Thin & Slim contains natural herbs and nutrients including Green Tea Leaf, Ginger Root, Guarana Seed and Yerba Mate Leaf extracts, and Cinnamon Bark. A complete list of ingredients is not available from the website.

Product Features

The hypnosis technique utilized by Think & Lose makes suggestions to the subconscious mind in order to alter the brain’s thought patterns regarding food and eating. Participants begin with a 30 minute CD and later switch to 10 minute and finally 2 minute reinforcement listening sessions. The sessions focus on overcoming subconscious reasons for eating including boredom, sadness, and loneliness.

The benefits of hypnosis for changing negative thinking and habits have been documented in the Journal of Consulting and Clinical Psychology and in the International Journal of Eating Disorders, although these publications do not discuss the effectiveness of the Think & Lose program specifically.

Advantages

  • There is a money-back guarantee.
  • New customers receive the Thin and Slim supplement free with purchase.
  • The benefits of hypnosis have been documented in clinical studies.

Disadvantages

  • There is no healthy eating or exercise advice offered by the program.
  • There are no clinical studies detailing the effectiveness of the Think & Lose program specifically.
  • Because there is no full list of ingredients in the Thin & Slim supplement, buyers cannot be certain that it does not contain fillers or ineffective ingredients.
  • Weight loss claims may be unrealistic for some people.
  • Hypnosis has proven to be ineffective for some people.

Conclusion

Although some hypnosis subjects trumpet the effectiveness of programs like Think & Lose, there are just as many who claim that hypnosis does not work and label it a scam. The power of positive thinking and the need for overcoming emotional causes for overeating may be valid, but hypnosis is not a cure-all for every person. In addition, no weight loss program can be effective without teaching people how to eat and exercise in a healthy way.
