List of Ingredients
Proprietary Blend: Psyllium Husk, Triphala Compound, Flax Seed, Anise Fruit, Guar Gum, Wild Yam Root, Stevia Leaf, Ginger Root and Licorice Flavor.
The most abundant ingredient in TriCleanse is psyllium husk. Psyllium husk is a fiber that works as a bulk-forming laxative. The dieter takes psyllium husk, as a standalone laxative or as part of a colon cleanser, with plenty of water. The fiber expands and scrubs the sides of the intestine on the way out of the body. Psyllium does not typically cause cramping or loose bowels, commonly associated with colon cleansing, but it can be dangerous if not taken properly. One main warning on most psyllium products pertains to swelling in the throat. If psyllium husks are not consumed with enough water, they can swell in the throat and cause trouble breathing.
The Triphala Compound contains several fruit extracts, including Belleric Myrobalan, Amla and Chebulic Myrobalan. Fruit extracts have a laxative effect when taken in concentrated form. Flax seed is a source of healthy oils and fiber. The seed can be sprinkled on salads and other foods or consumed in supplement form.
Stevia extract is a natural sweetener. It is used to give sweetness to the powder. There are no cleansing or weight loss benefits associated with Stevia. Ginger Root calms the stomach. In some cases, fiber supplements like TriCleanse can cause stomach discomfort, gas and bloating. Ginger Root may help prevent these side effects.
There is a brief sentence at the bottom of the product description for TriCleanse that references appetite control. According to the description, if the dieter wants to eat less, consume one dose of TriCleanse 30 minutes before a meal.
TriCleanse sells for $15.75 per 10-ounce container.
