What You Should Know
TruHCG is a product from the TruDerma company. HCG has been around since the 1950s when Dr. A.W. Simeons claimed dieters following a strict diet and taking HCG injections lost weight. Today, companies market HCG drops as a viable, painless alternative to HCG injections, but the problem is there are no clinical trials supporting any weight loss while taking HCG. We did find clinical studies that proved HCG injections were no more effective than a placebo for weight loss. If the injected version of HCG is not effective, the drops are not going to promote weight loss, so why do people lose weight on TruHCG? All HCG diets are extremely low calorie so dieters lose weight because they are essentially starving themselves.
List of Ingredients
HCG (Human Chorionic Gonadotropin) 6X, 12X, 30X, 60X, L-Carnitine 6X, 12X, 30X, 60X.
USP purified water, USP grain alcohol (20% by volume).
For the first two days on the TruHCG diet, the dieter eats anything and everything they want as long as it is packed with fat. The TruDerma website suggests chocolate, pastries, cakes, cookies and butter. Think unhealthy and you will get the idea of how the diet is supposed to fall for the first two days. After the “loading” phase, dieters restrict caloric intake to about 1,000. Dieters must follow the prescribed diet, which lays out exactly what foods the dieter can eat. Breakfast includes water and black coffee. Lunch is 3 ½ ounces of lean protein and 6 ounces of raw or partially cooked vegetables. This means the dieter is eating only 19 ounces of food a day adding up to 1,000 calories. The dieter will feel hungry.
The TruHCG plan lasts 26 days or 43 days, depending on how much weight the dieter has to lose. After the active weight loss phase, the dieter phases off TruHCG and starts adding in other foods. This is when the dieter is supposed to start taking TruTrim. TruTrim contains 240 mg of caffeine and 25 mg of Ephedra.
TruHCG is not clinically proven, nor is any HCG supplement. Dieters lose weight on the program because they are eating fewer calories. Any diet with 1,000 calories or less is considered a very low calorie diet and should not be followed without the consent and careful watch of a doctor.
- TruHCG is not a proven weight loss supplement.
- The diet is dangerous.
- Dieters will feel hungry.
- Weight may be regained.
- The follow-up supplement, TruTrim, is a dangerous combination of ephedra and caffeine.
Dieters should stay away from TruHCG and TruTrim, the after weight loss supplement. These products are not proven to help the dieter lose weight and may cause severe negative side effects.
