What You Should Know
TruDerma, the creators of TruTrim, also manufacture TruHCG. The company was constantly bombarded with questions about weight gain after stopping an HCG diet, so they decided to create a supplement dieters could use after stopping HCG treatment to maintain weight loss or continue weight loss, as needed. HCG has been clinically proven to have NO effect on weight loss, but that does not mean TruTrim is not a great product. The official TruDerma website does not list the ingredients for TruTrim, but online retailers selling the supplement list all ingredients on the product label.
List of Ingredients
Vitamin C, Vitamin B6, Vitamin B12, Chromium Picolinate, Mormon Tea, Caffeine, Salicylate, Green Tea Triple Blend.
Proprietary Herbal Blend: Caralluma Fimbriata, Cayenne, Ginger Root, Bladderwrack, Citrus Bioflavonoids and Acai Berry.
TruTrim has an interesting ingredient list. The first three ingredients are vitamins. These ingredients are considered safe for most dieters. Chromium picolinate helps control blood sugar to suppress hunger. We like this ingredient and the fact that the amount of chromium is listed on the label. Mormon tea is an interesting ingredient because this is just another name for Ephedra. Ephedra is illegal for use as a dietary supplement in the United States.
Caffeine is the next ingredient. There are 240 mg of caffeine in one serving of TruTrim. This is more caffeine than the average “no sleep” pill contains. Dieters will feel negative side effects from taking this much caffeine, especially if the supplement contains Ephedra. Salicylate is derived from white willow bark. This completes what is called an ECA stack. The ECA (ephedra, caffeine, aspirin or white willow bark) is proven to cause fat loss, reduced appetite and increased metabolism, but it is also associated with death.
Green tea is a safe metabolism booster, but the positive effects of green tea are lost in the negative effects of the other ingredients. Bladderwrack is another important ingredient. It is a diuretic that forces water from the body. Long-term use can lead to potassium loss and dehydration.
TruTrim sells for $38 a bottle. This is cheaper than other fat burners, but the dieter is taking a huge risk that the supplement is illegal.
- Contains caffeine, green tea and chromium.
- Ingredients are listed online.
- An ingredient list is not available on the official website.
- Could contain ephedra.
Dieters should stay away from TruHCG and TruTrim. TruTrim claims to contain ephedra. Ephedra is illegal in the United States for use in diet supplements. Moreover, the caffeine content alone is enough to leave the dieter feeling sick for hours. There are safe and effective weight loss supplements, but TruTrim is not one.
