Universal Kwik Energy Review
What You Should Know
Universal Kwik Energy is one of those products that is created for one mission in life and one mission only. There are no appetite suppressants, no extra ingredients to fill out the capsule – just pure stimulants. If you are looking for a product that just increases energy, this may be the one you’re looking for, but beware that Universal Kwik Energy contains LOTS of caffeine from multiple sources and could cause some serious side effects if you aren’t used to taking that much caffeine.
List of Ingredients
- Cocoa Extract
- Kola Nut Powder
- Guarana Powder
The ingredient list for Universal Kwik Energy tells us more than just the ingredients. Despite listing kola nut and guarana on the label – that little star beside the ingredients means there’s something more to these ingredients than just being a part of the formula. When we read the fine print, we realize that these two ingredients are standardized for caffeine. We’ll get to why that’s important in just a moment.
Caffeine is first and most important in Universal Kwik Energy. There is 250 mg of caffeine per dose and that’s far too much for the average dieter – so stay away from this one if you are sensitive to caffeine at all. Taking too much caffeine can cause you to lie awake at night, feel tingly and shaky and even vomit, in some cases.
Next is cocoa extract, which is a source of phenylethylamine. If you suffer from mood swings, bipolar disorder, panic disorder, depression or any other psychiatric condition – either diagnosed or undiagnosed; treated or untreated, you should not take supplement amounts of phenylethylamine. While there is some naturally occurring phenylethylamine in certain foods, there is not as much as companies pack into a weight loss or energy product.
The company reveals the 250 mg of caffeine on the label, but they also state that guarana and kola nut are standardized for caffeine. We are not told whether that caffeine is included on the label as “caffeine” or a listed as a separate ingredient. There could be more than 250 mg of caffeine per dose of Universal Kwik Energy.
Universal Kwik Energy is available from Bodybuilding.com.
We found the entire list of ingredients without struggle.
Contains caffeine, which will boost energy.
Contains multiple sources of caffeine – which could cause serious side effects.
Phenylethylamine is not safe for dieters with psychiatric issues.
We found no warning in the product description about the possible side effects of taking phenylethylamine. This is a huge oversight by the company. If there are any potential health risks associated with the ingredients in a formula, the company should feel responsible for stating those potential risks.
