According to the VPX Sports website, the ingredients in Meltdown include caffeine anhydrous, a-MTTA, yerba mate, 3′-5′-cAMP, synephrine, methylphenylethylamine, phenylethylamine, yohimbine and methyl-hordenine. The product also contains a number of filler ingredients.
Our first concern is with the long list of filler ingredients in this formula, which may cut down on the effectiveness of the active ingredients. We prefer to see a formula that contains just a handful of potent, active substances, since this type of combination usually produces the best results. A number of these ingredients are quite common in weight loss supplements, such as yerba mate, caffeine, yohimbine and synephrine. While yohimbine, synephrine and caffeine are all considered thermogenic ingredients with fat burning capabilities, they may not be the most potent options available. In addition, the combination of synephrine and caffeine may cause unpleasant side effects in some people. The other ingredients, while highly touted on the company website, do not seem to have as much clinical evidence to back up their claims as weight loss ingredients.
