Xenadrine XT is a new fat burner from the popular Xenadrine product line. The supplement claims to be perfect for extreme individuals who want to increase energy, smash through those weight loss plateaus and get more out of every repetition in the gym. Behind these claims is a heavy dose of caffeine and some green coffee bean extract. We expected more out of Xenadrine XT, but when a product uses the word extreme it usually means extreme caffeine.

Caffeine anhydrous or powdered caffeine is one of the more common stimulant ingredients used in fat burners today. The amount of caffeine added to each supplement varies widely from about 50 mg to more than 300 mg per serving. In the case of Xenadrine XT, the dieter is taking 270 mg of caffeine per serving with multiple servings suggested each day. The instructions for Xenadrine XT suggest the dieter start out with one capsule twice daily – total caffeine intake of 270 mg per day split into two doses of 135 mg. That serving size is upped to two capsules taken as one dose per day – total caffeine intake of 270 mg as a single dose. By the 4th day the dieter should be taking two capsules twice daily – total caffeine intake of 540 mg.

This may not sound like a lot of caffeine, but take into consideration that the average over-the-counter no-sleep pill contains 200 mg of caffeine. Taking Xenadrine XT at the maximum dose is like taking a no-sleep supplement nearly three times in one day. There are bound to be negative side effects like jitters, shakes, nausea and sleeplessness.

The remaining ingredients are no clinically proven to have any impact on weight loss or energy, so Xenadrine XT relies solely on the power of massive amounts of caffeine to achieve all the claimed results.
