What You Should Know
Ximo is a diet supplement listed as a Golden Energy drink. The drink contains no calories and no sugar. Ximo comes in a 2-ounce serving size with eight servings per container. Each serving contains a bit of sodium and niacin, but it is the non-nutritional ingredients that truly set this supplement apart from other weight loss products.
List of Ingredients
Purified water, green tea, natural and artificial flavors, sucralose, malic acid, citric acid, caffeine, ephedra, trimethylglycine, potassium sorbate, potassium benzoate, octopamine, quercetin, green tea extract, fructose, niacin and yohimbine.
Product Features
We always like to give a supplement the benefit of the doubt, so we will start with the good ingredients in Ximo. Green tea and green tea extract contain EGCG. EGCG is proven to boost weight loss and metabolism. The amount of EGCG in each serving is not listed, so the dieter does not know if the clinical proven amount is included, but at least green tea gets great scores for efficacy. Caffeine, another proven metabolism booster, is also included in Ximo in an unknown amount. These are the only two good ingredients in the supplement.
Ephedra is included on the ingredient list. We have no idea if this is the banned Ephedra or another extract from the Ephedra plant. Some companies chose to replace banned Ephedra with other Ephedra extracts to fool consumers into believing the supplement included the proven fat burner. Ephedra is not legal in the United States for use as a diet supplement.
Fructose is a fruit sugar that contains carbohydrates. This means there are trace amounts of sugar and calories in the Ximo drink. How many calories is another mystery. Niacin is a B vitamin known to cause flushing. There are no weight loss benefits, but dieters report feeling hot after taking the vitamin. Weight loss supplement companies often include niacin to convince the dieter they feel the supplement burning fat.
Ximo sells for $78 per 15-pack. Other packages of 24 and 48 are also available.
Advantages
- Caffeine and green tea are proven to boost metabolism.
Disadvantages
- Ximo is very expensive.
- Ephedra is listed on the ingredient list.
Conclusion
Ximo may be the Golden Energy Drink, but it could also be a deadly drink if banned Ephedra is included in the formula. The contact page lists Salt Lake City, Utah so chances are the Ephedra listed on the label is not the same Ephedra proven to burn fat. Much of the information on the website pertains to affiliate and distributors selling the product for a profit. There is no mention of Ephedra in the FAQs section of the website, but there is a warning to people sensitive to caffeine.
