There is one extremely popular fat burning ingredient combination that was proven to work for nearly every dieter. That combination included caffeine, ephedra and aspirin. For quite a while, all popular weight loss supplement manufacturers produced some form of stack that contained these three ingredients. When two athletes died after taking ephedra, the FDA stepped in and pulled it from the diet companies to regulate sales. Zenalean, and other ephedra fat burners, are still available for sale online. We are unsure if this supplement truly contains ephedra, but we have to assume the label is correct.

List of Ingredients

Ingredients:

  • Caffeine
  • Sida Cordifolia Extract
  • Ephedra Extract
  • Bitter Orange
  • White Willow Bark
  • L-Tyrosine
  • Ginger Root
  • Acetyl L-Carnitine
  • Green Tea Extract

Product Features

Caffeine is the mother of all stimulants. This supplement contains 200 mg, standard for extreme fat burners, but too much for most dieters in one dose.

Ephedra is another stimulant with proven fat burning and appetite suppressing qualities. Ephedra is often paired with caffeine and white willow bark to speed up delivery through the blood stream and prolong the effect of the ephedra. White willow bark, also present in Zenalean, is the aspirin alternative.

Bitter orange is a stimulant in the same family as ephedra. This ingredient carries some of the same side effects, but it does not have all the proven benefits of ephedra.

L-Tyrosine is added to Zenalean because it may naturally lower blood pressure. When you combine so many stimulants into one formula, blood pressure is bound to rise. This ingredient could cause problems if the dieter is taking medication for high blood pressure.

Advantages

  • The ingredients for Zenalean are listed online.
  • The product contains some proven weight loss ingredients.

Disadvantages

  • There are multiple stimulants in Zenalean.
  • Contains 200 mg of caffeine – the same amount in anti-sleep pills.
  • May contain real ephedra – illegal in the United States for use by diet companies.
  • Ephedra is associated with premature death, hypertension, heart palpitations and increased heart rate.

Conclusion

Zenalean may very well contain ephedra. Due to the fact that ephedra was pulled from the diet market and regulated, we suggest dieters stay away from this supplement. The ingredient list is nothing more than a list of stimulants packed with a natural herb to lower blood pressure. L-Tyrosine is not strong enough to lower blood pressure to safe levels in some cases.

Proven, safe ingredients for fat burning and weight loss include caffeine, green tea and chromium.
