What is BellyTrim XP?

First off, BellyTrim XP is a fat burner. The ingredients are conjugated linoleic acid 1,200mg, pomegranate seed oil 400mg and Bioperine (black pepper extract) 5mg. The recommended serving is two capsules in the morning and another two in the afternoon. You take four capsules a day to help slim your waist. We see no reason why you can’t take it with you.

BioTRUST, the makers of BellyTrim XP, created the official website in 2001. You can purchase online and the more you buy the less you pay per bottle. We like that you can save money and the company has an “A+” BBB rating, but read on…

BellyTrim XP Side Effects – “Positive”

The first thing we looked to see if users experienced side effects while taking BioTRUST BellyTrim XP. “We took a closer look at this formula,” said our Research Editor. “We found solid ingredients backed by research.”

“On this my third day, I have decided to stop due to…just generally not feeling well. My energy is zapped,” was one users experience with BellyTrim XP side effects.

One dieter offers advice that may help some users noticing adverse reactions.

“The most important thing to remember is, if you are taking any other medications, herbs or Chinese Herbal supplements, you need to run this by your Doctor,” was her suggestion. [3]

Results – “Positive Changes”

We examined BellyTrim XP reviews to see if dieters noticed results. “I’ve been on BioTrust LeptiBurn for about 2 months and have only lost 3 pounds…but to be honest about it, we’ve had several family occasions with a lot of good food, and I know I ate alot of food I don’t normally eat so I can’t condemn the Bio Trust product,” was one experience.

Some lost weight, but it was slow.

“Thought I was going to lose weight a bit faster than what I did, but I did lose a few pounds,” reported another.

According to one, “After my first 5 weeks of taking BellyTrim, my waist decreased 1 inch and my belly (hip measurement) decreased 3 inches.”

Our research over the years shows a connection between weight-loss and long-term success. It’s a win if dieters notice positive changes while using BellyTrim XP.

The Science – “Any Real Proof?”

We followed the research to see if BellyTrim XP works. When we visited the official website, we located studies showing the benefits of CLA and the results from taking black pepper extract. At Dietspotlight, we look for solid science supporting the claims. And with this one, it’s there.

"Very happy with the BellyTrim XP – I’ve been looking for a quality CLA supplement and finally found one. Easy to take gel capsules."

CLA Safflower Oil

Safflower oil can come from the seed or the flower. Safflower oil that originates from the seed is high in oleic acid, and oleic acid is a monounsaturated omega-9 fatty acid. Fatty acids that are monounsaturated are known to be anti-inflammatory. Safflower oil has been shown to reduce hunger and cholesterol levels. Safflower oil that comes from the flower is an omega-6 fatty acid. If consumed in high concentrations omega-6s have been linked to an escalation of diabetes, hypertension, and high cholesterol. Aside from showing a little decrease of belly fat in obese postmenopausal women that have type 2 diabetes, studies have not found an actual advantage for weight loss. [1]

Conjugated Linoleic Acid

Conjugated Linoleic Acid (CLA) has been successful in decreasing fat mass in animals, but social outcomes have been unreliable. Three human studies established no particular conclusion for CLA isomers and fat loss. [2]

There have been some studies that have found CLA to be successful in aiding with body fat loss. It was discovered through a double-blind study that participants that exercise and took 1,800 mg of CLA daily were able to lose more body fat during a 12 week period than the participants that took a placebo. Most studies have found that CLA only has an effect on the reduction of body fat when taken in larger does from 3.2 to 4.2 grams daily. [3]

Cis-9 Trans-11 Isomer/ Trans-10 Cis-12 Isomer

Both Cis-9 Trans-11 and Trans-10 Cis-12 are isomers of CLA whose effects on body structure, blood lipid report, and a sign of insulin resistance in healthy men has been studied. While there were no significant results found in body structure from either isomer, it was noted that when using trans-10 cis-12 CLA mean plasma triacylglycerol concentration was higher than with cis-9 tras-11 CLA. Both isomers appeared to have a substantial impact on plasma total cholesterol and LDL-cholesterol. It was not shown that supplementing CLA has an effect on plasma insulin concentration.

Pomegranate Seed Oil

Pomegranate is known for its exceptional medical history all over the world. Every part of pomegranate has fascinating uses medicinally; pomegranate seeds, in particular, are suggested as a traditional medicine that is high in conjugated a-linolenic acids (CLn). Pomegranate seed oil (PSO) has some medicinal assets due to its large volume of punicic acid (PA); a conjugate isomer of a-linoleic acid. Therapeutic assets of PSO include; antioxidant, anti-inflammatory, nephroprotective, hepatoprotective, neuroprotective, anticancer, immune system improvement, carbohydrate metabolism improvement, and insulin resistance decreases. According to studies the effect of PSO on lipid profile could be debated as steady data has not yet been recorded. [4]

BioPerine (Curcumin)

Curcumin/Bioperine (CB) has anti-inflammatory properties and has been theorized to be able to decrease cytological abnormalities in the mucus of those who suffer from COPD. A three-month double-blind trial was conducted that increased the dosage of CB in those with moderate or more severe COPD who were able to make mucus. It was found that CB in comparison to placebo did not change cytological and chromosomal irregularities observed in the mucus of those with COPD. [5]

I’ve had one episode of abdominal cramps, diarrhea, and vomiting; but not sure if it could be due to this product.

So sorry to hear about this, Sharon. Please let go see your doctor before continuing to take this product. Or maybe try an alternative product that burns fat? Dietspotlight Burn is a great option, users haven’t mentioned serious side-effects and they see results in as little as 2 weeks to 1 month. Good luck!
