Lean Out Review - Does This Supplement Really Work? Are basic ingredients and side effects deal breakers?
In the diet industry, don’t mistake marketing for effectiveness. We wanted to know more about Lean Out, so we looked closely at the ingredients, possible side effects, customer care and research. We also felt users had something to say, so we read hundreds of reviews. Finally, we condensed it all to give you the facts you need.
What is Lean Out?
To start, Lean Out is a supplement for body builders. It contains Vitamin B12, Biotin, Inositol, Choline Bitartrate, Chromium (As Chromium Picolinate), DL-Methionine, L-Carnitine, Betaine HCL, and Coenzyme Q10.
Beverly International is responsible for the Lean Out formula. We are not sure how long the company has been in business, but the official website opened in 1999. We like that it is affordably priced and contains all natural ingredients, but read on…
Basic Ingredients – “No Fat Burners or Appetite Suppressants”
The first thing we noticed is that Lean Out ingredients aren’t fat burners or appetite suppressants. “This is nothing more than a fancy multivitamin. None are associated with fat burning or appetite suppression,” said our Research Editor.
”I’m on my second bottle and haven’t noticed any real change,” explained one user.
”Nothing earth shattering. I ended up throwing them away because they started to smell really bad. I think I’ve finally learned that exercise and a healthy diet are the only sure-fire weight loss remedies. Hello,” offered another.
Others felt differently. “I had lost 5 pounds in one week and another 5 pounds the next week,” was one experience from a reviewer.
“This supplement really worked for me I noticed a slimmer mid section,” claimed a customer.
Side Effects – “Are They Worth It?”
Some people experienced Lean Out side effects, which is something that should never happen. There are safe and effective ingredients out there.
”I didn’t like it. It made my stomach into a knot. It just didn’t feel right. I never used it long enough to see if there was an “effect” of using it. I stacked it with the 7-keto and didn’t settle well in my stomach,” said one customer.
”Use religiously for 2 months and did not see any difference other than a larger than normal output of gas,” another user reported.
Others, however, experienced no side effects while using Lean Out.
“I don’t know if the ingredients are really working – if it’s a placebo effect – or if it’s the “could choke a horse” size of the pills themselves – but I have way less hunger all day after taking these around noon. On my 2nd month with positive effects,” a person shared.
One more offered, “I started taking them on Tuesday, July 19 and have lost 4 lbs in the first week so far after being plateaued for quite a while. Has worked very well, and I was skeptical. No side affects!”
With years of research behind us, it is often the small things, like poor customer service, ineffective ingredients or side effects, that ruin your chance of long-term results. If Lean Out offers any of these, that’s not a selling point.
The Science – “Not There”
There is no science to support this formula as an effective fat burner or appetite suppressant. Even though it is not aimed at people who have just a few pounds to lose, we don’t see how it would help bodybuilders, either. At DietSpotlight, we want to see science before we can recommend any product.
The Bottom Line – Does Lean Out Work?
What’s the real deal with Lean Out? Everyone who saw results with this formula was already eating well and working out. We have no proof the supplement was making any difference in people who needed to shed those extra pounds.

Previous Lean Out Review (Updated June 15, 2013):
What You Should KnowLean Out is a product created by Beverly International, which is a well-known company that produces supplements intended primarily for pro and semi-pro bodybuilders. Lean Out is hard to categorize as a weight loss product because it is mainly used by those who already have a great diet and workout routine in place. Bodybuilders sometimes experience muscle loss while dieting because the body burns energy regardless of whether it comes from fat or muscle tissue. Lean Out is popular as a supplement bodybuilders use in the off season while dieting to help ensure that their bodies burn fat instead of muscle for energy. Bodybuilders have very different lifestyles compared to your average person, who just wants to lose a few pounds, but Lean Out claims that L-Carnitine, which is the active ingredient, aids in burning fat as well as helping suppress a user's appetite. This may make it appealing to anyone trying to lose weight. Lean out also claims to give users a "euphoric state" while you take it, but this may only apply to those engaging in extremely strenuous workouts, and the claim does sound a little silly.
List of IngredientsLean Out contains: Vitamin B12 100 mcg, Biotin 450 mcg, Inositol 1000 mg, Choline Bitartrate 1000 mg, Chromium (As Chromium Picolinate) 200 mcg, DL-Methionine 1000 mg, L-Carnitine 600 mg, Betaine HCL 100 mg, Coenzyme Q10 10 mg. Other ingredients: Cellulose, Gelatin, Magnesium Stearate.
Product FeaturesLean Out contains some ingredients that are beneficial for the body and can actually help you lose weight, or at least improve your muscle to fat ratio. Chromium helps your body regulate glucose levels in the blood, and by using that with L-Carnitine, which encourages fat to burn before muscle, you might have a product that diminishes your hunger and raises your metabolism just enough to make you feel more energetic. This in turn might encourage you to do some extra physical activity, which will lead to weight loss.
- Contains L-Carnitine which may help you burn fat.
- Reasonably priced at $35 for 120 tablets.
- Lean Out is primarily marketed for bodybuilders who already have a diet and exercise plan, and not to those who are looking to casually drop a few pounds.
- The official website is written in a technical manner that only bodybuilders are really familiar with.
- There are no explanations given for most of the ingredients in this product.
