Organic Burst Health Benefits
Organic Burst offers a wide variety of herbal supplements, each claiming to help improve your health in different ways. Most of these potential benefits are associated with their ingredients.
Organic Burst Matcha contains Japanese matcha. Matcha is derived from the same plant as green tea, Camellia sinensis.
Scientific studies point to the health benefits of matcha. In one study published in Food & Function, researchers studied the effect of feeding mice a high fat-diet that included matcha.
Researchers determined that the mice fed a high-fat diet and the highest percentage of matcha (0.075% compared to 0.05% and 0.025% for the other mice) had significantly lower levels of cholesterol and fat in the blood than the other mice in the study.
They also observed that the matcha significantly lowered the blood sugar levels of the mice.
Green tea may be able to reduce the risk of liver disease.
In one report published in the International Journal of Clinical and Experimental Medicine, after studying the available scientific studies regarding matcha, the researchers concluded that green tea drinkers seem to experience improved liver health.
L-theanine, an amino acid that occurs in matcha, may increase activity in the alpha frequency band. In other words, it causes the mind to relax without causing drowsiness, according to Current Pharmaceutical Design and Asia Pacific Journal of Clinical Nutrition. This was demonstrated in studies performed on humans.
The research is inconclusive regarding the effect that L-theanine has on learning abilities and memory, though.
One study performed on L-theanine concluded that taking it didn’t affect cognitive abilities or anxiety in any significant way. However, other studies found it does improve learning abilities and memory.
Another article published in the June 2009 issue of Nutrition Research summarized a study that was aimed at determining whether or not chia seed promoted weight loss. The title of the article summarized the findings of the researchers, saying, “Chia seed does not promote weight loss or alter risk factors in overweight adults.”
More Organic Burst Benefits
Studies published in the European Review for Medical and Pharmacological Sciences, BMC Complementary and Alternative Medicine and the Journal of the Science of Food and Agriculture show that regular consumption of spirulina may reduce body mass index, weight, blood pressure, and stiffness.
Chlorella is a form of algae that grows in freshwater. It contains the highest percentage of chlorophyll of any plant on earth.
Chlorella may help reduce high blood pressure (according to Alternative Therapies in Health and Medicine), reduce serum cholesterol, enhance the healing of wounds, prevent cognitive decline (as per Neuroscience Letters), and strengthen the immune system (Drug and Chemical Toxicology).
Maca is a vegetable related to the radish. The Andeans and Peruvians have used maca for thousands of years for food and medicine.
Many believe maca is effective against many health problems, says Plant Foods For Human Nutrition. The research regarding these claims is still inconclusive.
Goji berries, also known as wolfberries, are native to China. Individuals have consumed goji berries for thousands of years as a medicinal herb and food supplement.
Research studies from Drug Design, Development and Therapy have demonstrated that the active components in goji berries can:
- Strengthen Immune Health
- Improve Eye Health
- Increase Cognitive Function
- Detoxify The Body
- Enhance Reproductive Function
- Reduce Inflammation
- Protect the Heart
- Reduce Blood Sugar Levels
Baobab is a genus of trees native to African and Australia.
The baobab tree’s fruit also called “monkey bread” is rich in vitamin C, potassium, and phosphorus. It also contains calcium, magnesium, zinc, vitamin A, thiamin, vitamin B6, and bioflavonoids. It is also rich in fiber and can act as a prebiotic.
A study in Nutrition Research show that baobab may be effective at reducing the glycemic response.
Wheatgrass consists of sprouted wheat seeds that are 1 to 2 weeks old.
It contains protein, vitamin A, beta-carotene, B-complex, vitamins E, C, and K. It also contains iron, calcium, phosphorus, magnesium, zinc, copper, and iodine.
According to the International Journal of Food and Nutritional Sciences (IJFANS), wheatgrass contains chlorophyll, which is thought to help the immune system, reduce inflammation, and detoxify the body. It is also said to lower blood pressure, restore energy, aid in weight loss, and alkalize the blood, states the Advances in Pharmacological Sciences.
The acai palm tree, Euterpe oleracea, is native to Central and South America. It has been consumed as a superfood for thousands of years.
Acai has been promoted as a weight loss and anti-aging supplement more recently. This is probably because it contains such high amounts of antioxidants, fatty acids, sterols, and phytochemicals, according to Archivos Latinoamericanos de Nutrición.
The compounds in acai berries are associated with improving cognitive abilities and improving heart health.

“Best tasting turmeric I’ve ever used/tried. Full earthy flavour with sweet citrus notes and no hint of bitterness. Love your chlorella too.”
The Bottom Line on Organic Burst
When we first heard about Organic Burst, we were intrigued, and our research into this company revealed some interesting facts. We like the variety of supplements offered by the company. We also like the simple ingredient list many of their products have.
However, we’re not so sure any of their products are effective for weight-loss. Additionally, there’s not a lot of clinical research backing up the claims their supplements make.
If you’re trying to lose weight, we think you should choose something that’s made for weight-loss, can be personalized to your needs, and is backed by clinical studies.
Among the best weight-loss programs we’ve seen this year is one called Noom. The program, whose positive results were published in Scientific Reports, provides everything you need to lose weight effectively, like human coaching, personalized meal plans, and more.
Plus, the company that makes Noom has decided to offer Dietspotlight readers free trial offer – a great deal.
