Overview

What is Shaklee 180?

First of all, Shaklee 180 is a direct sales business with some products related to weight-loss. This time we take a closer look at Life Energizing Shake, as it seems to be the most popular with tons of marketing. It is available in chocolate, vanilla, strawberry, and cafe latte flavors. It contains 24g of protein, 16 of which are plant-based. It also contains pre- and probiotics for colon health. There are some omega-3 fatty acids, as well as leucine to help preserve lean muscle, according to Harvard School of Public Health.

The official website does not provide any information about when the company was founded, other than copyright at the bottom that says 2000-2020. We like that they manufacturer several products that can be used together and some could be good for overall health, but read on…

Shaklee 180 Price

The first thing that needs attention in regards to Shaklee 180 ingredients is the cost. If you do not become a member, you can expect to spend anywhere from $48-$61.95 on a canister with 15 servings.

Considering the plan suggests replacing two meals a day, this can get incredibly expensive. “It is likely possible to get the same effect of this product, by combining a basic protein powder with prebiotic and probiotic supplements, as well as some leucine,” says our Research Editor. “And that would set you back a fraction.”

“Too expensive for what it is..,” a user claims.

”I have a giant tub of money, I mean, powder, that is going to waste. So bummed out since it was so expensive. :(,” said another.

Taste

Shaklee Taste

Ultimately, the selling point for a meal replacement like Shaklee 180 is taste. If the dieter can’t keep it down, there’s no way it will work to boost weight-loss. One user said, “Using 1cup Almond milk, two leveled scoops of the mix, frozen acai smoothie pack and a mashed banana the shake still came out chalky tasting.”

Another claims, “The money is wasted on a bad-tasting product that sits in the pantry and is averted at all cost.”

According to Harvard Health Publishing, it takes something quite small, like the poor taste, to keep dieters from reaching weight-loss goals. If Shaklee 180 is not something a consumer would want to use regularly, there’s no way it will work.

Research

The Science – “Clinically Proven”

There is science that shows the importance of protein in hunger satiation and for building muscle. According to Time, there is also some backing for the use of pre-and probiotics to keep the colon and digestive system healthy. Supportive research is growing, in terms of the connection between gut health and weight loss.

The idea is that processed foods, medications and lifestyle choices hinder the production of healthy bacteria in the gut. According to ScienceDaily, this can impede digestion and the absorption of medications and supplements. Improve gut health, and you improve overall health and, in many cases, boost weight loss. So, with this in mind, Shaklee 180 may be a good choice for some dieters.

What Users Are Saying

“Not only do these protein mixes taste great, but they are also very easy to digest. Make a great meal on the go.”

“The product was very filling for a meal replacement. However, I did not like the after taste of the stevia.”

“I could not force myself to finish the drink. Calling this flavor “strawberry” is an insult to strawberries and quite possibly Mother Nature herself. Rancid Froot Loops is a more fitting flavor description. Somehow, even worse than the repugnant taste was the repulsive texture of wet chalk and sand. I cannot believe Shaklee would charge so much for so little of an atrocious product. Please save your money and do some research to find a better tasting product with better macros.”

Bottom Line

The Bottom Line – Does Shaklee 180 Work?

So, are we revving up to chase down all the Shaklee 180? We were initially excited to take a closer look at this meal replacement, as it looked as though it might be a promising supplement, but because no science is available to prove this one is better than other options. Plus, the company works with MLM and some dieters prefer to work directly with the company instead of a distributor or ambassador.

If you’d like to drop some weight, we recommend going with a program that stands by your side through weight loss into weight maintenance and beyond.

Among the best products we’ve seen this year is one called Noom. It is created to stick with the user through life’s tough times and help keep you on track to success. You get personalized meal plans, human coaching, expert articles and an extensive food database updated by nutritionists, not users.

We’re happy to see the makers of Noom are confident enough in their product they’re giving customers a free trial, a good sign.

Hi, Carla! Any low-calorie diet you find suitable to you would improve your chances of success. You’ve started taking the Shaklee Kit? The shake kit offers to replace meals during your day with protein bars, shakes and supplements. Shaklee claims the program, when followed closely, encourages appetite suppression.

I have been using Shaklee 180 products since October 23, 2015. In the 4.5 months since then, I’ve lost 50 lbs. I’ve maintained my lean muscle mass. I’ve gone from a size 16 to a size 8. The shakes have tons of recipes that I truly enjoy! Two thumbs up from me.

Shaklee is by far on a level of its own. I’m an ex-athlete that , like most, have gained weight once i left college and structured fitness was not in my daily routine. Shaklee has put me back on track.
Shaklee has been around for decades and Dr. Shaklee is the inventor of the multi-vitamin. Patents galore!! Give it a shot, and be confident about your decision.

    Chris (Verified Purchase)

I have been using the Shaklee 180 products for over a year. I did the 180 turn around for the first several months and then just switched to doing one shake a day. I’ve had a fantastic results. The products keep the weight off. Preserve your muscle and help you feel great and energized all day. I have had other friends that have used the same products and have had a great results. After doing some research I also found out that Shaklee has been around for decades, I also found out that unlike other shakes the The enzymes and other minerals from the plants are all alive and active. The shakes are $40 for 15 serving can. That ends up being under three dollars for a meal. That doesn’t seem too expensive to me. Especially when it’s better for you than any fast food or cereal or traditional breakfast. I agree with the other comments that the editor should’ve done additional research. It says all over Shaklee website when they were founded and how long they been creating products. I don’t know how they miss that. Which leads me to believe they didn’t do a lot of research.

  • A product that I really trust
    Rhoda Kennell (Verified Purchase)

Shaklee 180 is a very affordable program; the Turnaround Kit is just one of several options. I mostly use the shakes, 2 a day, and I have lost 40 pounds. Not only that, I have gone from a size 18 to a size 12, losing fat and keeping the muscle. And the chart is not entirely accurate. Shaklee’s shakes also have 35 patents and patents pending. A person needs to work with their distributor to find a cost that fits their budget–Shaklee has something for everyone! Their products have no artificial products and are scientifically researched, with over 100,000 quality control tests each year to check ingredients and production, and they have studies produced in over 100-peer reviewed journals that are available to the public. A company that has been in business for 60 years with this kind of stellar record is something to look twice at; they are so much more than just a weight-loss company and as a result, I trust them implicitly. The results of the health in our family is another reason to trust Shaklee!

High protein, low carb supplements work. I purchase twice the amount for $25 at any grocer or nutrition shop. This is a private company that doesn’t have independent testing. There is no science to view. My guess it’s an equivalent product to most like kind. The MLM keeps prices much too high. For the uneducated consumer who assumes more expensive means better. Lifting weights 10″/day maintains muscle mass. Why another chemical?

  • This product really works!
    Brittney (Verified Purchase)

I personally have use the Shaklee 180 for weight loss after baby #4. I have lost around 35 lbs with this program. By month 1, I was back down to my regular clothes (which had taken me several months with pat pregnancies) and 6 months later was down to my pant size that I was at in college (before 4 kids)! When I started working out some, I started noticing even more results, muscle Started forming faster, my body started to become leaner! You can work with your distributor to find a Shaklee 180 kit that better fits your budget. I only used the shakes as pry of my plan due to cost, but it was totally worth it! This program is designed to help you lose fat and maintain muscle due to the amino acid, leucine, which most other shakes or diets do not have! It’s also designed to help you lose weight, and keep it off! It’s all natural, no artificial sweeteners or preservatives, no GMO’s…these are just a few other things that set it apart!

It may be expensive but you only have to buy food for one meal which equates to 7 meals a week times 4 is 28 meals for the whole month. If you weren’t on the diet you would have to buy food for 3 complete meals a day in a week which would 21 meals for one week times 4 equals 64 meals for one month, plus snacks. You will be spending well over $270.00 for the food. This is healthy diet. You’re getting all your nutrients and everything.

The Shaklee 180 is powered by leutine. Leutine maintains the lean muscle while losing fat. That’s why most diets fail. People may lose weight, but gain it all back plus more because they lost lean muscle. 180 is awesome.
