Game your way to health and fitness while you train abs and core muscles with the Stealth Core Trainer. This interactive core trainer makes core planking easier than ever before. Our researchers had questions. Does planking burn fat? Is it a useful exercise? Is the Stealth Trainer comparable to other tech-based workout programs?
Our research team considered how it works read through dozens of user testimonials and listened to what fitness experts had to say to give you the bottom line on the latest fitness craze.
Stealth Core Trainer can be purchased through their Official Site.
What is Stealth Core Trainer?
The Stealth Core Trainer is a balance board for core strength that doubles as a video game. Download the free Stealth App for Android or iOS, position yourself on the brightly colored Stealth board, and start planking. The board has a convenient spot for your cell phone, and it gives you a greater range of motion while working your core muscles.
But, what does research have to say about core stabilization exercises and training?
- Sports Health – “Enhancing core stability through exercise is common to musculoskeletal injury prevention programs.”
- Journal of Physical Therapy Science – With regular core training, core stability does, in fact, improve, say researchers.
- PLOS One – Research in the PLOS One journal says eight weeks of training shows promising results.

How Did Stealth Core Trainer Start?
Howard Panes, a personal trainer with 24 years of experience, loved the benefits of planking, but he hated how tedious the exercise was. He set out to design a technology that would make planking an interactive experience.
Panes brought Don Brown, the creator of the Ab Coaster and Ab Roller, on board. The two fitness gurus put together a prototype made of plywood, foam, and a giant dog ball. They originally planned to add a screen to the Core Trainer but decided a slot that fits any cell phone was a better option.
Panes and Brown hired an app developer to design the Core Challenge app and launched the Stealth campaign on Kickstarter in 2017. They’ve raised $381,281 to date.

Stealth Core Trainer Claims
Stealth Body Fitness claims:
- Train abs and core muscles
- Target 29 muscles
- Workout for less than three minutes a day
- Free smartphone Stealth app
- Challenge your friends, family, and co-workers to beat your Stealth score
- Improve flexibility
- Burn calories
- Tone your midsection
We think it’s interesting that the Stealth Core Trainer claims to help you burn more calories, but it’s not the most effective exercise for such. The Journal of Strength and Conditioning Research claims HIIT, or high-intensity interval training, is a better option. But, as the American Journal of Clinical Nutrition stated in research, exercise in any form is beneficial for weight loss.
How it Works
Stealth Core Trainer – How It Works
The Stealth Core Trainer is a simple concept. Users focus on a smartphone app while holding a planking position. You can compete with friends and family online to make working out less tedious, and the unstable Core Trainer surface helps you get better results from every workout.
Does Stealth Core Trainer Work?
A study published in the Journal of Physical Therapy Science suggests that exercises that train your core are beneficial to your overall health.
Another study, published in the Pakistan Journal of Medical Sciences, found that core stabilization exercises can reduce chronic lower back pain.
It appears that the Stealth Core Trainer may work to improve core strength. Developing core strength can have positive effects on your health and quality of life.

The most common complaints have to do with the Stealth Core Trainer price, which is $99.
According to testimonials on the Stealth Body Fitness official site, users can lose up to 35 pounds in 10 weeks. However, those results do not appear to be typical.
Details on Stealth Core Trainer and Weight Loss
If you want six-pack abs, you’ll have to do more than core exercises. A study published in the Journal of Strength and Conditioning Research found that abdominal exercises alone do not affect body weight.
You can have ripped abs, but you won’t see them if they’re covered in a thick layer of subcutaneous fat.
Several studies, including one published in the Journal of Strength and Conditioning Research, prove that targeted weight loss is impossible. According to researchers from Yale University, the fat that is broken down during exercise comes from fat cells all over the body, not just fat cells in the area that is being exercised. A healthy mix of cardio and resistance training should be combined with a balanced diet to promote weight loss.
How to Use Stealth Core Trainer
Download the free Stealth App, assume the planking position, and follow your phone screen instructions. You’ll be asked to hold your finger over dots that appear on your phone screen. It sounds simple, but it requires balance and core strength to remain upright on your Stealth Trainer while using your smartphone.

What Users Are Saying
“I thought… hmmm it is going to be easy. But I apparently am very lacking in core strength. My first try I fell but I am determined to get it. My husband is getting better with this also, when he first started on it his whole body would tremble. It is way more of a work out than we ever imagined. I haven’t tried the games part yet. I am going to work my way up to it hahaha, wish me luck.”
“I used this product for a month and developed arthralgia in my shoulder. This is a bad product.”
