Liquid Amino Diet Review - 6 Things You Need to Know

Don’t laugh, but well over 50% of diet products simply don’t work. So what about The Liquid Amino Diet? We wanted to do some deep research into the ingredients, side effects, clinical support and customer service. We collected all the facts after reviewing hundreds of dieter comments. Then, we concentrated and condensed all that info to give you what you need.

What is The Liquid Amino Diet?

To begin with, The Liquid Amino Diet is a weight-loss program that combines an eating plan with homeopathic drops. The supplement contains dandelion root extract, graphites, l-arginine and l-ornithine, among other ingredients. The official website claims you can lose up to 25 pounds in the first 30 days. The bottle is small so you can throw it in your bag or pocket and go, that’s one benefit.

The plan, created by Dr. Humble Finsand, was offered online in 2010. Purchases can be made through the official website and other online stores. We like the 7-day-a-week customer service department and multiple package options, but read on…

Unrealistic Weight-Loss Claims – “Worried?”

The first thing that worries us with The Liquid Amino Diet is unrealistic claims. According to our Research Editor, “As the old saying goes, ‘If it looks too good to be true then it probably is.’” There are three weight-loss programs that fall within the liquid plan – 30-day, 60-day and 90-day. The official website says you can lose 50 pounds or more in just three months. That’s an average of four to five lbs a week.

“First week, I lost ten pounds and my husband lost 15. We have not cheated once, and are now on day 28 and have not lost one more ounce. Our bodies have gone into starvation mode,” a dieter claims.

“The product did not work for me and I was following the instructions as prescribed. Did not lose weight. I wasted $154,” another buyer says.

The Liquid Amino Diet Reviews – “More of the Same”

Along the same lines as the unrealistic weight-loss claims, customers are just not happy with their purchase of the amino diet. “Doesn’t work, just makes you sick. Loaded with alcohol, tried it for two months never lost a pound or an inch. All hype keep your money…,” a buyer offers.

“I have followed this diet to the T for one week….I lost three pounds. After the first week I continue to follow the diet and put a pound back on….WTH!!!! You are suppose to lose a pound a day I don’t think so 🙁 Amino diet drops does not work,” one dieter says.

Based on our research, a negative like poor customer reviews, is enough to affect the long-term success of a program. The plan is just not as successful as it is with positive comments. If the liquid diet for weight-loss is as ineffective as dieters claim, this is a giant issue.

The Science – “Clinically Proven?”

At DietSpotlight we are constantly on the lookout for strong clinical support. The Liquid Amino Diet is not backed with research. Low-calorie diets can help you lose more weight, but the ingredients in the drops are not proven, with published studies, to improve weight-loss. No good science means no good can come of a plan.

What Users Are Saying

“This product arrived promptly and was exactly what I expected. Lost the weight I expected to in a timely fashion.”

“Its amazing, I have lost 12 lbs in 10 days, and I will continue using it till i reach my goal!!!! Love it”

“Was not what I expected it did not work on me I have not lost any weight with this product”

The Bottom Line – Does The Liquid Amino Diet Work?

Drum roll please…here’s our take on The Liquid Amino Diet. The program does have some benefits like a 30-day guarantee and the suggestion to follow a low-calorie diet, but we have a few reservations about it. There is no information on the company behind the product and the negative reviews are enough to make us question the effectiveness.

If today is the day you want to lose more weight, we suggest a supplement with solid clinical support, proven ingredients and a positive customer reviews. It’s also a good sign if it sells for an affordable price.

Among the best products we’ve seen this year is one called Burn HD. The proprietary blend of ingredients is, in fact, supported with published scientific research that shows it helps boost metabolism and spark fat loss. We didn’t find mention of any negative side effects and dieters report great outcomes.

Also, the producers of Burn HD have confidence in their product so they’re offering a 2-Week Sample, a positive.

Liquid Amino Diet Ingredients

We looked closely at The Liquid Amino Diet ingredients to give you the important details.

Phytolacca Berry

Sometimes called American nightshade or pokeweed; phytolacca Americana is a plant that produces berries. However, this fruit is toxic unless it’s thoroughly cooked. It’s used in some supplements and homeopathic medicines. This plant grows in some parts of Asia, Europe and North America.

What is it Supposed to Do?

Well, phytolacca berry is claimed to help fight obesity by boosting metabolism and burning off fat. It may also help treat mumps, fungal infections, rheumatoid arthritis and painful menstruation as well.

Clinical Research

There is some research that supports phytolacca berry for weight reduction. According to the Department of Pharmacology, St. Peters Institute of Pharmaceutical Sciences, Hanamkonda, Warangal, India, “A study was made to evaluate its anti-obesity effect in the rat model. Results revealed that the Phytolacca berry extract had significant anti-obesity activity by reducing excess body weight, and cholesterol and triglyceride concentrations.”

Clinical research is quite important when searching for a diet supplement that really works. You might want to check into a product like Dietspotlight Burn. This weight-loss formula contains some ingredients that have been researched.

Taraxacum Officinale

Also known as common dandelion, taraxacum officinale is a flowering plant that grows in many lawns. It’s often considered a weed. This herbal extract is found in a number of internal cleansing products and weight-loss pills.

What is it Supposed to Do?

Typically taraxacum officinale is added to supplements as a diuretic. Put simply, this herb helps increase urination. This in turn reduces excess water weight and bloating. However, there is no solid evidence that links dandelion to fat loss.

Clinical Research

There is research that shows taraxacum officinale aids with urination. In fact, “A study published in The Journal of Alternative and Complementary Medicine in 2009 verified that dandelion extract can increase urination for 5 hours after consumption.”

A-ketoglutaricum acidum (AKG)

Sometimes called a-Ketoglutaric acid or AKG, a-ketoglutaricum acidum is essentially a chemical found in the human body. This component is also found in some nutritional supplements. It’s often used to treat cataracts, liver problems, stomach disorders, kidney disease and intestinal issues.

What is it Supposed to Do?

Often a-ketoglutaricum acidum is used in fitness supplements or health products. It’s supposed to help you build lean body mass, reduce muscle fatigue during workouts, and boost endurance levels.

Clinical Research

Some studies have been done with a-ketoglutaricum acidum. However, according to PubMed.gov, “AKG did not improve endurance levels and blood flow to aid the muscles as it’s often claimed to.” On the other hand, some research has shown that this substance is beneficial as a kidney failure treatment.

Is There Anything Out There That We Think TRULY Works?

We have our eye on a diet product that does fit the bill. Dietspotlight Burn, which is formulated with ingredients that HAVE been clinically tested, is one supplement you shouldn’t overlook. Previous Liquid Amino Diet Review (Updated August 12, 2014):

What You Should Know

The Liquid Amino Diet is a diet similar to the HCG diet, where drops are placed on the tongue and a limited number of calories are consumed every day. This program promises fast results, and while it may produce them, it is not the most healthy way to lose weight. Losing weight this way increases the chance that your metabolism will reduce, leading to rebound weight gain, with the possibility of gaining even more weight than you had when you started. Read this review to learn more about the program to decide if this is how you want to reach your weight loss goals.

List of Ingredients

The drops in this diet include the following ingredients:
  • Phytolacca berry
  • A-ketoqlutaricum acidum
  • Graphites
  • Taraxacum officinale (Dandelion)
  • Lophopytum leandri
  • Calcarea carbonica
  • L-Argenine
  • Acetyl L-Carnitine
  • L-Ornithine

Product Features

The Liquid Amino Diet works much like the HCG diet by providing drops you place on your tongue, and greatly limiting your caloric intake on a daily basis to produce weight loss. Like HCG drops, these claim to be completely natural, but instead of providing the HCG hormone, they provide amino acids, and instead of 500 calories a day, you are allowed to eat 1000 calories per day. This promotes quick weight loss, but the reduction in caloric intake over the long term can send your body into starvation mode and slow the metabolism down. Directions on how to take the drops are included on the packaging. The diet also gives you access to health coaches and a list of allowed foods.

  • The Liquid Amino Diet provides a list of “approved” foods you are allowed to eat while following the program.
  • This program gives you access to health coaches.

  • The Liquid Amino Diet only allows for 1000 calories a day.
  • This program promises weight loss at an unhealthy rate, which can lead to metabolism changes and rebound weight gain.
  • This program is similar to the HCG diet, which has been shot down by the FDA.
  • There has been no scientific testing done on these drops.
  • There is no word about a money back guarantee on these drops.

The Liquid Amino Diet is very similar to the HCG diet, which we do not recommend. This low calorie intake can and will backfire on your metabolism. Instead of something like this, we recommend only slightly reducing your caloric intake and making sure your food choices are better ones. We also recommend a regular exercise program to help keep your body healthy and strong while you lose weight. If you want to use a supplement to enhance your health and wellness goals, we recommend a clinically proven safe and effective appetite suppressant or fat burner to help you reach your goals.

  • Is it safe for my condition?

I will be having breast reconstrution after mastectomy and would like to lose a few pounds before that surgery but wondering if there is anything in the drops that would be harmful .

    • Stephen (Editor)

Hi, Beverly. Only your primary doctor can adequately assess the risk of your body having a negative reaction to this, or any, diet supplement.

  • Adriana Atefah khan

One of my friends used the amino diet method. She said to me that really worked for her. Off course if you stop it and retake all the samehabits before , it’s a mathematical logic we gonna gain weight again.
The fact that they don’t expose detailed the ingredients.its due a brand. Coke doesn’t expose detailed the.components information.
Following the logic behind your article to promote your products as I could get, you said if some customers claimed that didn’t work for them it’s means that the product is a failure and the proof of this is the lack of information about the components. Ohh please.. I visited a number of doctors and they prescribed medications which are legitimated by scientific evidence but simply didn’t work for me. I’ve read all information about the medications. OK… Pretty good. But didn’t work for me and it doesn’t mean that the doctors are duffers or the medications are fakes.
It is the reality of our human nature…

  • Nikki

I did the Liquid Amino Diet 3 years ago and I lost 50 pounds in 3 months. I followed it strictly Mon – Fri and gave myself a little more freedom on weekends. I did not exercise while doing the program other than walking. I kept my weight off until recently when I completely reverted back to old habits. I am planning on doing the program again and transitioning to the maintenance plan which I did not do the first time.
