List of Ingredients
Beyond The 120 Year Diet: How to Double Your Vital Years basically enables you to be able to take care of yourself longer into your life. Dr. Walford also claims it can work to prevent and reverse heart disease. It is also a good option for those with a history of breast or prostate cancer, or diabetes.
The larger part of the diet is making sure you eat high quality foods to avoid compromising your nutrition. Since you are greatly reducing your caloric intake, it is vital that all the foods you eat contain enough nutrients. The combination of nutrient dense foods with the caloric reduction is the key to increasing your longevity.
The diet contains a moderate amount of lean protein, low fat, and focuses on eating plenty of fresh produce, while also focusing on low glycemic carbohydrates. The key to this diet is volume. Since people get to eat more of the good foods, they should not feel the hunger typically associated with calorie reduction.
The book contains almost a month of plans where an entire day’s worth of meals can be budgeted in 1500 calories or less. There is also information about tests available from your doctor and some you can do at home to test your actual biological age. These tests will help you gauge your health.
If you have weight to lose, you should lose it slowly, and expect the process to take up to two years if you have a lot of weight to lose. Those who lose weight rapidly will not only increase the chances of re-gaining the weight, but they will not get the longevity benefits.
