Any dieter who watches the television show, The Biggest Loser, will find themselves, at some point, wishing they were on the ranch or being personally trained by Jillian Michaels. The celebrity trainer was not always thin and pictures have surfaced in the past few years of Michaels overweight. Nowhere in her story of weight loss and weight control did Michaels admit to using a product like Jillian Michaels EXTREME Maximum Strength Control. Just like the stars of the hit weight loss show, she worked at weight loss.

List of Ingredients

Proprietary Xanthine Complex: Yerba Mate Leaf, Coffee Bean Extract, Guarana Extract and Cocoa Seed Extract.

Maximum Strength Calorie Control Proprietary Blend: L-Glutamine, L-Tyrosine, Damiana, Ginger Root Powder, White Willow Bark Powder, Rice Flour, Magnesium Stearate, Cellulose, Silicon Dioxide, Gelatin, Titanium Dioxide, Spirulina and Riboflavin.

Product Features

Having a fitness instructor formulate and sell stimulant based supplements just doesn’t seem right somehow. The Xanthine Complex is packed with stimulants that will significantly increase heart rate. According to the official website, about 100 mg of caffeine like stimulant is packed into each dose. Dieters are supposed to take the supplements three times a day before meals. According to the packaging, “Two Capsules Before Meals and You Lose Weight…That’s It!”. That is a pretty profound statement to make and one that may be in violation of consumer rights.

Weight loss supplements like Jillian Michaels EXTREME Maximum Strength Calorie Control cannot make claims that are clearly unachievable. If a dieter were to eat 10,000 calories a day and take six capsules as directed, they would not lose weight. As of 2010, several lawsuits have been filed again Michaels for false claims and the use of harmful ingredients. Maybe she should have stuck with fitness and training.

Back to the ingredients list, the Calorie Control Blend is nothing more than a few amino acids and a natural alternative to aspirin. We see no ingredients proven to decrease appetite and neither does Michaels evidently, because no clinical support is offered for any ingredients included in the Jillian Michaels EXTREME Maximum Strength Calorie Control.

  • Some claims are outrageous and may be illegal.
  • Last dose takes place a short time before bed and could cause sleeplessness.

Weight loss is a personal battle that The Biggest Loser contestants allow the world to watch. Week after week, dieters work hard in the gym and learn how to eat better to lose weight. Supplements are clearly a part of the weight loss journey for many people, but this supplement does not live up to any of the claims it makes. Stimulation, late night doses and lawsuits are quite interesting but not the perfect recipe for weight loss.
