What You Should Know
Honey Stinger Energy Chews are a small bit of candy-like energy product that contains about 95% organic ingredients that supply fiber, carbohydrates and a bit of protein. The chews are made for athletes, but all of the flavors aside from the caffeinated varieties, contain ingredients safe for consumption by athletes of all ages. The Honey Stinger company claims the products are made to supply energy, but they can also be used as a healthy snack. Each pack contains 160 calories.

The caffeine listed on the ingredient list is not present in all varieties of Honey Stinger Energy Chews. Only select choices of flavors contain caffeine and caffeine is listed on the product page. You don’t have to go searching for the ingredient list to find out if the flavor contains caffeine.
The caffeinated chews add a punch of stimulant energy, but that is not the only source of energy. Products like Honey Stinger Energy Chews are created to supply calories to the athlete who is already in shape. The athlete burns calories and the chews replace those calories so the body does not crash and performance stays optimal throughout training and competition. Honey Stinger Energy Chews are not designed for extreme athletes, which is why the product can be used as a snack in addition to an energy product.
Compared to other energy chews on the market, Honey Stinger Energy Chews leave a lot to be desired. The ingredients look more like a food product than an energy chew. This product could even pass as a healthy candy rather than a supplement-type product. Of the nearly 40 grams of carbohydrates about 30 are from sugar – not exactly the healthy snack we’d feed our children.
- Honey Stinger lists all ingredients on a dedicated page.
- The product can be used by athletes of all ages.
- Supplies carbohydrates needed to replace calories during exercise.
- Some flavors include caffeine.
- Contains a lot of sugar – so not the ideal snack for kids.
- The dieter should not use Honey Stinger Energy Chews.
Honey Stinger Energy Chews are the ideal product for athletes and though the company claims kids can use the chews, we are a bit skeptical because of the high sugar content. Kid athletes need to replace energy, but if a child is just playing around the yard we would choose a different means of replacing calories burned.
