For every whey supplement that claims to be the best on the market, there are another hundred making the same claim. Many whey supplements, including Scivation Whey, offer a combination of whey, amino acids and glutamine. This is the holy trinity of whey supplements, but most are formulated in the exact same way so there is no difference between one brand and another. When it comes to protein shakes, the selling point is taste and taste is not discussed in the product description for Scivation Whey. Another selling point is carbohydrates. If a product contains a ton of simple carbohydrates, bodybuilders will simply choose another brand. Scivation uses sucralose, a calorie-free artificial sweetener so bodybuilders don’t have to worry about excessive calories.

Scivation Whey is available in chocolate and vanilla – two common flavors. One serving contains 104 calories and 22 grams of protein. There is only one gram of carbohydrate and one gram of fat per serving. As a straight, lean protein shake, Scivation Whey is ideal, but the average dieter does not need to supplement glutamine. Glutamine is the primary energy source for muscles during weight training. When glutamine reserves are depleted, the muscle turns on itself for fuel. Supplementing glutamine is common in bodybuilding, but useless in dieting.

List of Ingredients

Whey Protein Concentrate, Whey Protein Isolate, Cocoa Powder, Natural and Artificial Flavor, Xanthan Gum and Sucralose.

Product Features

Lean and mean – that is the power of Scivation Whey. Bodybuilders would not use this supplement as a pre-workout, workout or post-workout shake, but they would use it to supplement protein on top of other protein supplements. If a bodybuilder is having trouble consuming enough protein in the diet, muscle growth may slow down or stall. Scivation Whey is ideal in this circumstance, because the bodybuilder can add as much protein as desired without adding more creatine, caffeine or other workout supplements.

Dieters may love the fact that this product contains very few extra calories and so do we. But, there are no vitamins in this supplement, so using Scivation Whey as a meal replacement is not advised. In addition, with 22 grams of protein per 104 calories, the dieter would need to consume about three servings, or 66 grams of protein for one meal. That is more protein than the average dieter needs per meal.

Conclusion

Scivation Whey is a clean protein shake. We have no idea how it tastes, which is a huge let down. We would like to know how this product mixes in liquids and whether or not it leaves a gritty taste in the mouth. These are common complaints when using whey protein products.
