What You Should Know
The Verseo Be-Slim Weight Loss Patch is not affiliated with GNC’s “be” series of weight loss products. Instead, the Be-Slim Weight Loss Patch works as an appetite suppressant to rid the dieter of the cravings often associated with weight gain. The patch is placed on the skin once a day and lasts for 24 hours. The ease of use is probably the most unique aspect of the Be-Slim Weight Loss Patch. Other than that, the ingredient list is nothing new to dieters having tried many of the weight loss products on the market.
List of Ingredients
Thyroid Stimulant?, Guarana, 5-HTP, L-Carnitine, Flaxseed Oil, Lechitin, Zinc Citrate, Vanilla Aroma, 45 mg of Active Ingredients?
The primary ingredient in Be-Slim Weight Loss Patch is a thyroid stimulating herb. The name of this herb is not listed in the official description, leaving the dieter to wonder what is being absorbed through the skin. With a little research and the help of third-party retailers, we found the thyroid stimulating ingredient to be Fucus Vesiculosis Extract. This thyroid stimulating hormone was proclaimed as a weight loss aid in the late 1800s.
It is unsafe to consume Fucus Vesiculosis Extract, or bladderwrack as it is commonly called, by mouth. The herb is also commonly used as a laxative which could be the reason people lose weight while using the Be-Slim Weight Loss Patch as bladderwrack is not proven to have any weight loss benefits.
Guarana is a stimulant that will increase energy and decrease appetite. This ingredient belongs in the same category as caffeine and it seems to have replaced caffeine in this supplement. Caffeine is proven to increase metabolism, but Guarana has not yet earned that badge.
Verseo warns that using the Be-Slim Weight Loss Patch could cause jitters and headaches commonly associated with taking caffeine based supplements. There have also been reports of skin breaking out beneath the patch. We could find no studies testing the efficacy of herbal delivery through the skin.
The Be-Slim Weight Loss Patch by Verseo sells for $29.95 per month. Dieters can order only two patches or up to 90 as desired.
- Guarana may increase heart rate enough to burn more calories.
- Delivery of herbs through the skin has not been thoroughly tested.
- Skin breakouts have been reported while using the patch.
- Guarana may cause jitters and headache.
We are always open to new and exciting ways of creating a safer weight loss supplement. If patches are the next big thing, clinical trials will soon be published proving how much of the ingredient makes it through the skin and how beneficial patches are when compared to supplements in tablet or capsule form. Until then, we will stick with known delivery systems.
