Lunch would consist of two slices of whole wheat bread, with two tablespoons of peanut butter and two tablespoons of jelly, together with an apple and a fat free beverage. Dinner would consist of a chicken breast with vegetables. The book entitled, ‘The Peanut Butter Diet,’ includes a four week meal plan and fifty recipes. Those who conceived the diet, say that the diet works as it allows you to slim down, while still eating many of your favorite comfort food. They also say that Peanut Butter is a healthy monounsaturated fat that helps you lose weight, as well as reducing your risk of diabetics and heart disease. The Peanut Butter Diet plan allows you to eat 1500 calories a day if you are a woman and up to 2,200 calories a day if you are a man. In terms of peanut butter this allows you to incorporate four tablespoons of peanut butter if you are a woman into your daily eating plan.

A number of people have also criticized this diet as they say that we should be encouraging people to be aware of peanut allergies which can be fatal, rather than encouraging them to eat peanut butter in abundance. At the end of the day if you are sure you do not have any allergies, then you may have some fun on this diet, but it is not a serious long term weight control solution.
