When a dieter considers weight training , certain factors come to mind: price, value and impact on the body. The Total Gym provides users with a low impact home gym that is affordable and features accessories not seen on traditional Pilates-style machines. One such product, the Total Gym 3000 offers several upgrades compared to the traditional Total Gyms of the past. Available on the official website with a price tag of $850, will the Total Gym 3000 be the answer to a dieter’s questions?

List of Ingredients

Upgraded Pilates-style Total Gym featuring squat board and wing attachments.

Product Features

The Total Gym 3000 is a Pilates-style home gym featuring a squat stand and wing attachments. With more than 60 available exercises, the Total Gym 3000 is an ideal low impact home gym. The Total Gym 3000 is considered low impact due to the resistance. There is no need for free weights, the resistance is generated from the body weight of the user, combined with varying levels of incline on the machine.

The weight capacity increased with the Total Gym 3000. The stand weight capacity for a Total Gym is 250 lbs. and the weight capacity for the Total Gym 3000 is 300 lbs. This allows a greater range of individuals the opportunity to benefit from the low impact design.

One of the main benefits of the Total Gym 3000 aside from the low-impact resistance is the compact design. Holding true to other Total Gyms, the Total Gym 3000 takes up a mere 4 feet by 8 inches folded and 7 feet by 4 feet unfolded.

We didn’t like the increased price of the Total Gym 3000. Considering the product adds just two attachments verses the base model, the price tag of $850 is a bit excessive. The value shopper will clearly see the similarities of the original and the Total Gym 3000 and steer clear of the more expensive model.

  • Expensive.
  • Similar to original models.

Conclusion

We like the Total Gym 3000. We would like the product even more if it included more accessories for the price. The cost conscience dieter will look at the Total Gym 3000 and see it offers limited accessories for the price. At $850, we could not find the value in the product, especially considering a dieter could join a health club for more than 4 years at that price..

The benefit of the Total Gym 3000 is essentially the low impact nature of the exercises and the space saving design. We found that although the exercises are low impact, they do require a base knowledge of Pilates-style exercises. Performing exercises at the top incline could pose a danger for the novice.
