Piloxing Review- Does This Exercise Work?
Piloxing is a fitness product I will surely never forget. We looked at side effects, components of the program, clinical studies and customer service quality. Then, we spent hours reading through hundreds of user comments and reviews. Finally, we condensed and refined to give you the info you need.
What is Piloxing?
To start, Piloxing is a unique mix of Pilates and boxing. The workout is designed to help burn fat and build muscle. Several gyms across the country offer classes. If you don’t go to a gym, you can find DVDs to go do it at home. All you need is gloves, a comfortable set of clothes and towels.
It was said to be invented by Swedish dancer and celebrity trainer Viveca Jensan, and first became popular among celebrity women. We like that you can do it at home or in the gym and it combines multiple exercise disciplines, but read on…
Potential Safety Issues – “Not For Everyone”
Our first issue is there are some safety issues with this kind of exercise. “If you’re a beginner or have any kind of physical conditions that limit your ability to move, this may not be for you. Watch a class first, and talk to your doctor,” said our Research Editor.
“This is too hard for me as a beginner,” said one user.
“I had to be really careful not to hurt myself,” said another.
Not everyone felt this way.
“I had fun, and it was a challenge, but that’s what I was looking for,” said one dieter.
“After a month of weekly classes, I find it is getting easier to do,” said another.
Class Availability – “No Piloxing for You!”
Our next issue is that if you’re the kind that likes to workout in a gym with a professional instructor, you may have trouble finding one. The popularity isn’t too far widespread yet, so you may be stuck trying to guide yourself through a DVD at home.
One upset woman said, ”My gym had never heard of the concept.”
“I couldn’t find an instructor in my area,” according to one review.
There are people who had no issues getting into a class.
“I love my class and my instructor,” said a reviewer.
Another happy person said, “This class kicks my butt in a good way.”
Our years of experience have shown us that it takes one small thing to send dieters looking for something else. Issues finding classes or being able to physically follow the workouts could lead to customers looking for an alternative.
The Science – “Maybe”
Both boxing and Pilates have merit for burning calories and sculpting the body, when performed correctly. As such, it stands to reason Piloxing could do the same. The issue lies with the fact that not everyone will be able to perform the movements, and may get hurt or different results based on their ability.
At DietSpotlight, we want to see science before we can recommend any product, but we want to know our readers are kept safe, too.
The Bottom Line – Does Piloxing Work?
What’s the real deal with Piloxing? For the more advanced fitness types, it can be a great way to vary your workout and keep you from getting bored. But, there’s no research showing this fitness program will help you lose more weight than comparable systems. Also, we’re concerned about customer reviews about the class availability and the potential safety issues.
If you want to shed those extra pounds, why not try using a supplement that contains clinically tested ingredients that’s backed with positive reviews and causes no side effects?
Among the best products we’ve seen this year is one called Dietspotlight Burn. It features a unique blend of ingredients, all shown in clinical research to support a healthy metabolism. And, our research into what customers had to say revealed no mentions of side effects or negative reviews. This lets us know users are getting solid results.
Plus, right now, the makers of Dietspotlight Burn are giving customers a Special Trial Offer. What a refreshing thing to see.

What You Should Know about Piloxing
Piloxing is a unique mix of pilates and boxing. It was said to be invented by Swedish dancer and celebrity trainer Viveca Jensan. It is reportedly a fat blasting and muscle toning exercise for women, aiming to attain a sleek, sexy and powerful self image. It is a popular choice for women who are already into pilates exercise. Because of its benefits, it is said to become very popular among the celebrities and slowly spread towards women with daily jobs and home makers.
VPilates stated it is a training institute specializing in piloxing. It supposedly has instructional routines on daily and weekly basis for the members. The institute reportedly also released a dvd ($19.95) with all the training and instruction on piloxing. This dvd is suppose to be good for people who cannot attend the VPilates piloxing training session at its studio.
VPilates claims to also offer courses to become a piloxing instructor. It is suppose to be best for people who have existing pilates experience. This 9-hr course states it teaches you the basic foundation and training methodology of piloxing and provides you with all the tools and resources you will need to teach a full length piloxing Level 1 class.
List of Ingredients
Instructor or instructional DVD, piloxing gloves, piloxing wear and towels.
Product Features of Piloxing
Piloxing is supposed to blend the power, speed and agility of boxing with the sculpting and flexibility of pilates. In addition to Pilates and boxing movements, the exercise also states it incorporates the use of weighted gloves which add to the workout by toning the arms and maximizing cardiovascular health. The dvds are suppose to be easy to learn and claim that they can be used at the comfort of home without going to any piloxing training institute.
Advantages of Piloxing
- Supposedly a very good substitute for aerobics
- Supposedly complete cardio vascular workout
Disadvantages of Piloxing
- Costly start up cost
- Cannot ( shouldn't ) be done without instructor or instructional dvd
- Not a fitting exercise for all body types and weights.
Piloxing is supposed to be for people with "go-out and exercise" kind. It is suppose to be a complete substitute of any cardio vascular exercise on planet. While it is recommended exercise for women with moderate / highly toned body, who want to now, move to next level, it doesn't promise anything. It claims it can be started at home, along with an instructional dvd and few simple piloxing equipments. I would personally pass on the piloxing as it is quite expensive and exercise is exercise with or without spending hundreds of dollars.
