Last year was a stellar year for advances in health and fitness technology. Today, more than ever before, access to helpful tools and resources for weight loss is available in every corner of the world. There are a few apps that stand out among the sea of available features. Here are the Top 5 Health & Fitness Apps.

#1 Noom

When you want to have support for health, wellness, weight loss, healthy eating, and other lifestyle changes, you can look to Noom. The app may be marketed for weight loss, but it’s the lasting results and new, healthier habits that really set this app apart.

There’s also the fact that clinical research involving more than 35,000 participants showed the Noom app works to improve weight loss, as per Scientific Reports. No other app has even come close to this level of research.

#2 MyFitnessPal

MyFitnessPal, which is owned by Under Armour, is one of those apps that have been around since the beginning of app stores and lasted the test of time. With this app, you can count calories, track your eating plan and exercise, and scan food barcodes for access to nutritional information.

The app is free to use, but there are paid options as a Premium package.

#3 Lifesum

Lifesum makes the list of top health & fitness apps because it’s easy to use, and the interface is beautiful. Some of the features include access to details on various eating plans, a 3-week weight-loss program, recipes, and macros tracking.

The app is not available in a free version, so you have to pay a minimum monthly fee to use the program.

#4 Kurbo

Kurbo is the weight-loss app from WW. The app partners the user with a coach who takes control of the weekly check-ins that would typically happen at WW meetings. The easy red, yellow, green interface for food tracking makes learning the difference between good and bad food choices manageable.

There is no free version of Kurbo. You must pay a minimum weekly fee to maintain access to your coach.

#5 FitPlan

FitPlan is an app that focuses on fitness more than overall health. We like that the program pairs the user with “elite” personal trainers like Alex Rodriguez and Brendan Brazier.

The app is only available with a monthly or yearly fee. With the fee comes access to all workout programs.

Noom is on the top of the list because it uses a unique, psychological perspective of weight loss and presents that in a way that personalizes your journey and gives you a real-life coach, so you’re never alone.
