Metabolic Meals Review - 13 Things You Need to Know
Metabolic Meals takes food delivery to a new level, or so they want us to believe. Once again, we found ourselves doing some serious research as we came across, yet another organization that claims to offer a service that can increase your health while also aiding in weight loss. We had to see if these claims had any truth to them, here is what we found.
Metabolic Meals can be purchased through their Official Site.
What are Metabolic Meals?
Metabolic Meals is a chef-prepared meals delivery service based out of Missouri that can help take the stress out of cooking, shopping, cleaning, losing weight, and more.
Choose organic meals, and they will be shipped right to you. All the meals are prepared with organic produce by some of the best chefs. The question is, what does the science have to say about meal delivery?
- Journal of the Dietetic Association: Home-delivered foods provided a way to increase certain important nutrients in the diets of participants.
- Journal of General Internal Medicine: Tailored meal delivery services can be a good option for individuals with certain health conditions and may decrease food insecurity and improve mental health.
- Journal of Nutrition in Gerontology and Geriatrics: According to this study, “Participation in home-delivered meals programs may contribute to the health and independence of older adults living in the community.”

Does Metabolic Meals Work?
Metabolic meals work for many people, whether they are individuals, families, or a group of co-workers. It is a subscription-based program that anyone can use to have meals prepared for them, so they don’t have to cook, clean, shop, or plan their meals.
This can work for people who are too busy to cook, older people, ill or disabled, and others who are unable to cook for themselves, or coworkers who prefer eating healthier fresh organic meals over fast foods for lunch.
According to Health Affairs (Milwood), meal delivery services are also great for reducing food costs.
Metabolic Meals Benefits and Results
You will have more time for yourself, and your kitchen will stay clean without the hassle of preparing breakfast, lunch, and dinner. And think of all the unwanted pounds you will shed by eating healthy meals regularly.
Details on Metabolic Meals and Weight Loss
The metabolic meals fit plan’s daily calories range from 1200 to 1400, and the performance meal plans range from 1800 to 2100, including snacks.
However, fat loss is not only based on how many calories you consume, but there are also other contributing factors to consider, such as portion gaps and ratios of carbohydrates, fats, and proteins, which have a significant impact on weight loss. One study published in Cell Metabolism found that macronutrient ratios were more important than caloric ratios when determining health.
According to the folks at Metabolic Meals, their meals are well-balanced to safely influence weight loss and maintain a healthy diet and lifestyle.
How to Use Metabolic Meals
To use Metabolic Meals services, choose a subscription plan. When you are ready to order, log in to your account, select your meals from all the freshly prepared meals available, and then go to my schedule section to schedule a delivery date. Your meals will be shipped to you. You get to choose a subscription plan that will work for you, what meals you want to receive, and when you want them delivered. Also, you can skip, change, or even cancel your subscription plan at any time.
Potential Metabolic Meals Side Effects
Although the company states they do not include shellfish in their meals, the facility does handle shellfish, and some meals may consist of nuts, eggs, dairy, and fish. However, even if your order doesn’t contain these ingredients, there is still the risk of cross-contamination. Metabolic Meals is not liable for allergic reactions that may be contracted from its foods.

Is Metabolic Meals a Scam?
Metabolic Meals is a legitimate business. However, they do have affiliates selling for them. It’s hard to ensure that they are operating their businesses legally and not selling the food as prepared meals for weight loss, which is why you should always take care when ordering anything online. Read the fine print, and research the company and its products before paying for anything.
Metabolic Meals Price
The price per serving depends on the type of meal and size of portions you order and where you are located. Breakfast meals are the least expensive at around $10 for the fit sized portion meal, and roughly $14 for the more significant performance portion. Lunches and dinners typically cost around $12 for smaller portioned meals and $17 for larger pieces. Treats and snack prices vary, but usually, cost around $43 to get seven days’ worth.
There are two plans to choose from: My Choice and Chef’s Choice. The My Choice starts at roughly $10 a serving, and the Chef’s Choice plan starts at around $25 a day.
Shipping is $19.95 per order, but there is no shipping charge for orders of $15 or more.
What Users Are Saying
“Metabolic meals is great! The food is good quality and I’ve liked most everything I’ve gotten. Their steak is sometimes even better than what I’ve gotten at a steakhouse. It’s easy to see the meals and ingredients and place an order. I also like that I don’t have to have a subscription but can order when I need it. Great customer service!”
“Meals were good however way too much sodium for someone who is on a DASH diet. Guys people are coming to you for great meals, however you need to be thinking about the amount of sodium in each meal. I took a look at what came for the remainder of the week and 2 meals were over 800mg (govt daily recommendation is 2000mg). My blood pressure jumped big time after I started your bfast/lunch program sorry need to cancel.”
“Not right for me – They followed through on everything they promised but I didn’t like the taste. After a few days I couldn’t make myself eat them anymore. I want to say that I am not a healthy eater so these foods were very unusual for me.”
Bottom Line on Metabolic Meals
We find it hard to recommend such a service, especially to those who are allergic to certain foods since Metabolic Meals may try to accommodate you. Still, the truth is, cross contaminations do occur.
Some of their foods may contain GMO’s, and they don’t support vegans or vegetarians, which is a big letdown for some.
Also, there isn’t much difference in comparing regular seasonal meals to these prepared meals for weight loss; you can lose weight and stay healthy with these meals just like you can with any other meals you eat.
However, there is a product that we do recommend for weight loss and health; it’s called Noom.
The weight-loss app is designed to support the user in healthy lifestyle changes that work to guide them through weight loss and into a life of weighing less. Clinical research that included tens of thousands of participants showed Noom works.
Noom now offers a free trial offer so that users can see how fast changes take place.

The cost per meal delivered for my Chef’s Choice small portion is $16.70. It is not that simple to cancel. If you want to skip you have to do it more than a week before. I wouldn’t recommend.
Actually the average cost per meal is $10-$13.
Only performance portions such as a container with two grassfed steaks would cost $17.
Agree, very difficult to cancel and even to get them to refund you when you do cancel before the cancellation deadline. And they don’t always follow through with cancellations either as meals are still delivered and then they claim you didn’t cancel in time even though you have the emails to prove it. When everything goes their way, its a great company, but when it doesn’t go how they want, its very complex and difficult to deal with.
