You may be surprised by what I say in this 17 Day Diet review. We took the time to really dig deep and conduct a thorough investigation, looking closely at the ingredients, side effects, customer-service quality and scientific research. We also read dozens of user responses and comments from around the web. At last, we compressed all of the facts and feedback we found to give you the important info you actually need.

What is the 17 Day Diet?

To begin with, the 17 Day Diet menu is an eating plan that supposedly helps you drop a whopping 12 pounds within the first 17 days. The ingredients include whole foods. Processed foods are not allowed and no special supplements are involved. It involves four different phases, which include accelerate, activate, achieve, and arrive. Note that you are expected to reduce your daily calorie intake to 1,200 during the first phase (accelerate). This is intended to help with fat loss. Both women and men of all ages can use this diet program.

The 17 Day Diet was first released back in 2010. It was created by Dr. Mike Moreno. The book is available through online retailers like Amazon. This weight-loss method limits carbohydrates and focuses more on protein consumption. We like that it’s easy to follow and that we found positive feedback, but read on…

Calorie Restrictions – “Can You Handle It?”

One concern we have is calorie restrictions. According to our Research Editor, “Many dieters have complained that the 1,200 calorie per day aspect of the 17 Day Diet meal plan is too restrictive. It leaves them feeling hungry, irritated and dissatisfied.”

One person posted, “Way too many restrictions and special requirements. No morning coffee with creamer, hot green tea several times a day, hot lemon water in the morning, only two pieces of fruit, but not after 2. I didn’t last even a week.”

However, a different dieter said, “Basic diet book that is based on high protein, low carb diet. Good advice, however, dairy is strongly stressed in this diet and I am sensitive to dairy.”

Another commented, “Will you lose weight? Sure. But the food is so limited and expensive. Also, you may notice some 17 Day Diet side effects like irritability.”

Negative User Comments – “Uh oh”

Another issue is negative user comments. For example, one person stated, “Ridiculous. You’d think I’d know better by now than to fall for such a restrictive diet. It’s just not sustainable. Way too unnatural.”

On the other hand, a different dieter reported, “It works okay, but it’s nothing new.”

“If you can really stick to it, you will lose some weight. However, it’s quite strict and pricey,” revealed another.

The research we’ve done has shown if there is a specific part of a diet program that is very concerning or burdensome (calorie restrictions, negative user comments, side effects) the odds of real results for the long haul are not good. In other words, if the 17 Day Diet diet food list is too restrictive for many people to handle, this could be a deal breaker.

The Science – “Is It There?”

First off, reducing your daily calorie intake will result in some weight-loss. Therefore the 17 Day Diet meal plan is likely to cause you to shed some pounds if you stick with it. However, as some people have mentioned, this diet plan is quite restrictive. So, you must be able to handle the food restrictions and low-calorie intake in order to get the results. Sadly many people cannot.

The Bottom Line – Does 17 Day Diet Work?

Now the moment you’ve been waiting for. This is our bottom line on the 17 Day Diet menu. To begin, we like that this weight-loss program is fine for men and women of all ages and body types. On the other hand, we have some reservations about this diet plan because it has some serious food and calorie restrictions. Also, we’re concerned about the discouraging user comments we found posted online.

If you’d really like to drop more weight, then we suggest you go with a diet program or product that is backed by solid science, does not require a lot of food or calorie restrictions and is supported by numerous customer testimonials.

Among the best products we’ve seen this year is one called Leptigen. Its formula is a proprietary blend of four potent ingredients, which have demonstrated in published clinical research to help accelerate fat loss and boost metabolism. Furthermore, we can’t find any negative user comments at all, and customer feedback on the web shows people are seeing great results.

The makers of Leptigen are so confident in their product they’re offering a Special Trial Offer, which is very encouraging.

What You Should Know

The plethora of weight loss books and supplements may leave you wondering where to begin. Well, keep in mind that it all starts with your goal. Once you understand your weight loss/living goals, you are bound to discover the right product to assist you. In this review, we will look more closely at The 17 Day Diet, which is a book sold through various online distributors.

Product Features

The 17 Day Diet is marketed as a system designed to encourage rapid weight loss. According to the primary website, it is a “doctor’s plan.” The author of this text is one Dr. Michael Rafael Moreno. He practices medicine in San Diego, California, and emphasizes the importance of eating healthy, and exercising regularly. As far as credentials go, Dr. Moreno attended Hahnemann Medical School, and sits on the American Academy of Family Physicians medical board. In regards to The 17 Day Diet book, this is claimed to be a simple plan that anyone can adopt. It primarily targets visceral and belly fat, which is something most people strive to get rid of.

There are several cycles involved with The 17 Day Diet. Put simply, each one of these cycles is supposed to improve one of your body’s systems. The user’s metabolism should increase, and the digestive tract begins to function more properly. As the weight comes off, users should feel healthier, and have a more flattering physique. The cost of The 17 Day Diet book is $25. However, there is also a DVD available, which is called The 17 Minute Workout DVD ($15), as well as a 17 Day Diet Meal Plan ($184.90). The Meal Plan basically consists of one weeks worth the “physician-designed” meals.

  • There is a free BMI calculator provided on the main website, which can be used any time.
  • The 17 Day Diet meal plan is virtually for anyone.
  • There are some before and after photos provided on the official website.

  • There are no convenient supplements offered with this book to help burn off fat or curb hunger.
  • The 17 Day Diet Meal Plan seems quite high priced at $184.90.
  • There is no much information revealed on the main website regarding how The 17 Day Diet menu actually works.
  • There is no mention of a 100 percent money-back guarantee with this book.

All in all, The 17 Day Diet book is pitched in a similar fashion to many other weight loss books. The fact that it was written by a medical physician really does not say much. After all, many others are as well. While it is nice to see that this text aims to assist men and women with living a healthier lifestyle, it is difficult to determine what is actually involved with The 17 Day Diet food list. Especially since the primary website does not divulge a lot.

can you have nuts on cycle 1 accerate? I loss 45 lbs. a year and a half ago did well now back on it again I was bad!

I started the diet 1 year ago the 12th of November and have lost 45 pounds and most of that in the first 4 months. I am 58 and can not believe how it has changed my life. My daughter and I have learned to eat healthy and I cannot begin to tell you how much I recommend this lifestyle of eating.

This was a great diet plan. After trying both the 1st and 2nd cycle, I lost 10 ibs. Pretty much gives you advice on what you should eat and gives great examples of foods to eat durning the cycle. All the food is natural from the grocery store near you. I’m planning to go back into the program again.

My husband and I just started this 13 days ago. He’s lost 18lbs, and I’ve lost 5. He needed to lost 25-30lbs, and I need to lose 10-12. He’s leveled off now – and may even gain a pound, then lose it. The thing is – healthy wt loss is 2lbs a week, so we need to be thrilled with more than that. Be patient. We gained it over a longer period of time. The great thing is this is healthy! Protein is critical – for our cells and for feeling satisfied. Eat chicken and eat fish. I eat 2 eggs/day – very filling to start the day. I’ve never dieted before – but as I age, it’s hard to keep trim.

This diet plan has helped me to learn to eat foods that are good for me. I have lost about 15 pounds. At times I will gain a pound and then lose afew. I am trying new foods and eating more fish, chicken and turkey. The 17 minutes a day of exercise that makes you really sweat really helps. I am even running now. Feel lighter and clothes are looser now. I plan to stick with this. would like to lose 30 pounds total.

I’ve been on this diet for over three months. I’ve lost 30 pounds. Went from a size 12 to an 8. Would like to lose 10 more, but seem to have stopped losing even though I’m pretty strict and in phase 1 again.

That’s really good! 10 lbs a month! How are you doing now?

Love this diet!! I’ve been trying to lose weight for 2 years. I’ve tried almost every diet available. My first week I lost 7lbs!! My goal is 15 so I have 8 to go!!

Can anyone tell me if sugar free jello is allowed during phase 1 and crystal light?????

Just obtaining info through the blog. Getting my questions answered

I lost 12lbs. during the FIRST week!!! I am only on day 11 in the activate cycle. More to come, I am sure!!! grin

What if you do not eat eggs? What are the other options?

I suggest the cottage cheese or yogurt. Also, if I grilled chicken the night before, I grill extra for my lunch salad and will sometimes eat 4 ounces of chicken for breakfast instead of the eggs. I think it is about the lean protein. As long as you keep it to that you should be okay. It did not restrict my weight loss.

I did this diet several years ago and shed 10 pounds in the first cycle, but life changed and I found it difficult to pack all my snacks needed to maintain even blood sugar levels and stave off hunger pangs. I really enjoyed it, but I eat these foods normally. I am not as thin as I should be since I consume alcohol, white breads, and other sugars daily, so I am back on the cycles to shed the weight quicker than just getting rid of my bad habits. If you are a fairly healthy eater with just a few bad habits, this is the diet for you, but if you are a junk food junkie, then you’ll find it too restrictive. Yes, you will get headaches and irritability at about day 3, but these are because your body is addicted to sugar and you are having cravings. THEY WILL GO AWAY and YOU WILL FEEL GREAT AFTER! All of my aches and pains in my joints went away since they were from inflammation caused by sugar. My mood improved drastically and I found that I was more joyful without sugar. Changing a habit is not easy and how you eat is habitual, so NO diet that works is going easy, but you can find one that fits into your lifestyle. If not, I’ve also lost weight by adding GOOD things to my diet… as I did this, I naturally subtracted bad things because I wasn’t hungry. Good luck!

Can you eat hummus? And I love foods that crunch can any one suggest foods I can snack on doing this diet?

Is their a BRITISH alternative to kefir? never heard of it cant find it anywhere…

I’ve been on the diet for 4 days and was surprised that I had only lost 1 pound. I feel much slimmer but I thought I would have lost a little more. I just realized the greek yogurt I’ve been eating the last couple of days wasn’t fat free, so that’s probably why.

I don’t eat eggs, yogurt etc. can vegetarian meat substitutes be used for morning protein?

Is the probiotic more important than the sugar part of the yogurt? Also, does anyone know how many calories are involved. Doesn’t seem like very many? I’ve only lost 3lbs in 8 days.

You have to watch the amount of sugars on the diet. The point of the diet is to put your bady in a state of ketosis (starve your body of sugars) so that your body will use fat stores to fuel itself. The probiotic is mainly to help you keep your digestive system flowing properly with all the added protein.

You may be consuming too much sugar, hence little weight loss.
