My love for diet products is bested only by my passion for reviewing them. With SlimMe1, we decided to take a closer look at ingredients, side effects, clinical studies and customer service quality. Additionally, we picked apart hundreds of comments on the web. Then, we refined and summarized to give you the info you need.

What is SlimMe1?

First off, SlimMe1 is a weight-loss system utilizing the YP10 diet drops and healthy eating. The formula contains:

SlimMe1 also contains bladderwrack, fennel, black walnut hull, uva-ursi and senna leaf. After following for 30 days, using the drops and eating a restrictive diet, the program supposedly helps users lose about one pound per day. The small bottle means you can put it in your pocket and take it on-the-go.

SlimMe1 is a relatively new company, opening its doors in 2009. It’s impressive that the business uses some natural ingredients in their supplements. The products are only available on the official website. We do like that there’s an emphasis on healthy eating practices and that we located some positive customer comments but read on…[1]

Unrealistic Weight-Loss – “30 Pounds a Month?”

The first concern was the unrealistic weight-loss claims associated with SlimMe1 ingredients. “There are multiple sources that state losing approximately one to two pounds per week is a realistic goal,” said our Research Editor. “If a company claims dieters will lose about 30 pounds in a month that causes concern.” [2]

“I am on day 7 of the program, and according to the YP10 diet claims, I should have lost 7lbs in the first week. Uhm, not so much. I may be down 3lbs. I’ve followed the diet almost to the tee,” stated a consumer.

“On day 4, more complex than I thought it would be during the loading phase I gained 4.8 lbs.,” said a dieter.

Some customers had success using the SlimMe1 program. “I dropped some weight. It was very hard for me though,” commented a customer. [3]

“After my first round, I did lose some weight and keep it off,” reported another.

SlimMe1 Customer Testimonials

Slimme 1 Price – “Too Steep!”

Based on customer comments on the web, SlimMe1 is rather expensive. “If I have to do another session, what’s the price of that? I can’t afford $200.00 a month in other words,” commented a user.[4]

“I ordered two of this product at the price of $274 with the promise and the hope of being a thinner healthier me,” commented a customer.

“I purchased the ultimate deal which included a multi vitamin and some other detox supplements. Very expensive! With coupon cost 246.00. Very upset with myself for following for this scam,” stated another. [5]

There were no customer comments praising the company for lowering the costs of SlimMe1 supplements. The consensus across the board was the products exceeded $100 or more a month.

According to our research and experience, all it takes is something deemed problematic, like a high price tag, to reduce the chances of long-term success. If SlimMe1 costs more than comparable weight-loss systems, this is concerning.

“Supported by Science?”

When we visited the official website, we noticed customer testimonials and product details, but nowhere does the company offer scientific research to support weight-loss claims. After taking a hard look at the ingredients, we found a link between caffeine and dieters losing weight, but not relating to this formula. We did find that one of the active ingredients, hoodia, is considered a “fad”, with no backing. We at DietSpotlight look for published clinical studies to make a determination. If there’s none, we become skeptical.

The Bottom Line – Does SlimMe1 Work?

So, are you signing up for your first order of SlimMe1? Well, we like that the company uses a few natural ingredients and that we located some positive customer comments, but we’re skeptical about this one because of no research supporting the weight-loss promises. We also have concerns due to the high price, unrealistic claims and the use of “fad” ingredients.

Are you ready to lose the weight? If you are, we suggest going with an affordable supplement that contains a formula backed by scientific research.

Among the best products we’ve seen this year is our product called Burn HD. The formula contains a four-ingredient proprietary blend. All clinically-tested with results often found in journals including Obesity and the Journal of Medicine.

Also, we’re so confident that you’ll love our supplement that we’re offering a 2-Week Sample, which is a good sign.

We took a good look at SlimMe1 ingredients in order to provide the important details and specifics.

Hoodia Cactus Leaf

Commonly referred to as hoodia gordonii or simply hoodia, this is a cactus plant that grows in the South African Kalahari Desert. It has been used for many years by bushman as an appetite suppressant for long hunting trips.

What is it Supposed to Do?

Hoodia extract is found in a number of over-the-counter weight-loss supplements. It contains an active molecule called P57, which sends signals to the brain. This in turn is supposed to help suppress hunger.

Clinical Research

According to the Mayo Clinic, “Although hoodia is marketed as an appetite suppressant to aid weight-loss, there’s no solid evidence that hoodia is effective.” [1]

Guarana Seed

Guarana is also known as paulinia cupana or Brazilian cocoa. This plant is often used to boost mental or athletic performance, reduce fatigue, and aid with weight-loss. This component is found in a number of energy drinks and diet supplements.

What is it Supposed to Do?

The main purpose of guarana in diet products is to boost energy levels and enhance metabolism. It contains a significant amount of caffeine, which is a stimulant and mild diuretic.

Clinical Research

WebMD says, “There’s some evidence that guarana – when used along with other supplements – may promote weight-loss. It’s uncertain if the guarana specifically was responsible. Because caffeine is a stimulant that has been shown to improve mood and aid weight-loss, guarana may very well also have these effects.” [2]

Gymnema Leaf

Often called gymnema sylvestre, this substance is basically taken from a woody climbing shrub. It’s native to Africa and India. Furthermore, this ingredient is sometimes used to make medicine for treating cough, diabetes, malaria and metabolic syndrome.

What is it Supposed to Do?

Sometimes gymnema is used in diet supplements for weight-loss. It’s often claimed to reduce the body’s absorption of sugar, which in turn helps prevent weight gain.

Clinical Research

“One study on rats, published in the December 2013 issue of Drug Research, found that this herb may prevent weight gain when used over the long term while consuming a high-fat diet. Further human studies are needed to confirm whether these findings apply to humans.”

One that’s caught our attention is one called Dietspotlight Burn. It contains clinically-tested ingredients and has been shown to work. Click above to learn more.

SlimMe1 Scientific Abstracts

Hoodia Cactus Leaf

H. gordonii is known to suppress appetite. This study was held to evaluate and report on the antidepressant effects of H. gordonii. The study had delivered evidence suggesting that chronic and acute consumption of H. gordonii extract at 25 and 50 mg/kg doses had shown an antidepressant effect I mice that had been exposed to forced swimming test. There had been observations made on the alterations of behavior in the FST and OFT which seemed to be mediated by activities from dopaminergic, noradrenergic and serotonergic systems. This had included an elevation of monoamine (5-HT, DA and NE) within the stratum of mice. The results had increased the need for further investigation neurochemical mechanisms and changes in behavior that triggered the antidepressant effects caused by the H. gordonii. Further research is also required due to the dry extract of the plant used in the study at a dilution of 20:1. [1]

Gymnema Leaf

A water soluble fraction of Gymnema sylvestreethanol extracts orally administered (120 mg/kg/p.o.) over a course of 21 days had shown results of substantial decreases in heart rate, serum leptin, mean arterial pressure, insulin, lipids, apolipoprotein B, Na+/K+ATPase activity and DNA laddering, cardiac caspase-3 levels, visceral fat pad and weight of organs. It had also helped antioxidant enzyme levels in diabetic rats on a high fat diet. It was concluded that water soluble fraction of Gymnema sylvestre ethanol extract may be a helpful tool in the treatment of obesity and type-2 diabetes. [2]

Senna Leaf

Senna acts as a natural laxative as well as agitating the inner lining of the colon in order to carry out the process. The Senna leaf’s mechanisms derive from a shrub with yellow flowers, which may cause a harmful reaction triggered by overdependence of the stimulant. This could also cause disease in the colon, potassium deficiency, among others. [3]

A study was carried out to determine the singular and combined effects of Glycyrrhiza glabra (licorice) and Thallus laminariae (kelp) on the metabolism. Results had indicated that the activities of the mixture on metabolism were very close in association with both the kelp and the licorice. When kelp alone was given continuously as well as mixed with licorice had led to kidney pathological abnormalities in SD rats. The combination of kelp and licorice delivered problems to sera molecules and system metabolism, which both had displayed an association to kelp and licorice. The metabolic effects were due to both the kelp and licorice; the results of the study had shown kelp to play a primary and more important role. [4]

I can only speak for myself, but this diet plan worked for me. My first attempt at this was back in the fall of 2013 and I lost 24 pounds. I regained all of the weight plus more within a year, but that was at the fault of no one but myself. The hardest part for me was loading. Consuming that much food is quite a shock and ended up being a really miserable experience.

I started a new round back in late November 2016 and lost 20 pounds over the holiday season. Since completing the program, I have lost an additional 10 pounds with around 80 more to go. I have experienced the most growth through the maintenance faze of this program. I will be starting a new round in February hoping to lose another 20-25.

  • Loved it. I felt great.

I purchased the SlimMe1 Detox Tea last summer and loved it. I felt great, I slept so much better at night but just recently I re-ordered and noticed the ingredients have changed. I haven’t had a full nights sleep since I started the Detox. I don’t really feel any different. I’m very disappointed.

I have done slimme1 yp10 weight loss program 4 times. After each one of my pregnancies. It was wonderful! each time I lost 25-30 pounds and dropped all my baby weight. My youngest is now 3 and I have kept it iff and feel amazing. Not only did I lose the weight but I learned alot about food and nutrition with this program and that has helped me so much long term.

My husband did it. Yes I thought it was VERY expensive since we basically got drops and the tea that makes you poo. 😀 Everything else you make and pay for yourself. However. (He didn’t use the tea at all I did because I needed that 😀) He lost 25 lbs in three weeks. We followed the eating program to the Tee it wasn’t delicious but not bad and he was ok with it. As far as I’m concerned if you can lose 20 some lbs in 3 weeks it’s a good plan. Also, for anyone that says it’s not healthy etc etc. my hubby was sleeping better had more energy during the day lost the weight, just was better. So we are going to do it again. This time try and stick to the follow up program.

  •  This works!
    Nicole Riel (Verified User)

We did the SlimMe 1 over four years ago without supplements. In 6 weeks we lost 30 pounds and have kept it off to this day. If either of us starts to or on any weight we go right back to it. To maintain we eat like this during the work week and eat how we want on weekends. However, we are both very active!

  • Jeff

I was on the SlimMe1 system… I lost a total of 42 lbs. My wife was on it too and she lost a total of 23 lbs.

  •  Yp10 really works
    Cori (Verified User)

I’m on my second round of yp10. The first round I lost 28lbs and 4 dress sizes, I’m now in my second round it’s only been 9 days in fat burn and I’ve lost 18.6 lbs. This program does work as long as you follow it to the tee. One thing to keep in mind is if you only have 20lbs to lose it will be harder to lose than someone who has100 lbs to lose so dont get discouraged. As far as I’m concerned it’s worth every penny.
