Juice Plus Booster Review - 6 Things You Need to Know

I need to make a confession. I was obsessed with researching Juice Plus Booster ingredients, side effects, and scientific research. Our attention turned toward hundreds of user comments and reviews. Then, we condensed and refined the facts to give you the info you need.

Overview

What is Juice Plus Booster?

First of all, Juice Plus Booster is a powdered weight-loss supplement. The ingredients are glucomannan (a natural fiber), green tea extract, fructose, oil emulsion and caffeine (a stimulant).

It claims to suppress appetite and reduce cravings, but what does science say?

  • Nutrition – According to research, glucomannan may help with short term weight loss, but it doesn’t appear to change body mass index.
  • Regulatory Toxicology and Pharmacology – EGCG, a catechin in green tea, is safe to consume up to 700mg daily, far more than you’ll find in this supplement.
  • Nutrients – We were a little surprised to find a fruit sugar in the mix, but what surprised us more is that research warns against chronic intake of fructose for health reasons and a possible link to obesity.

Add one packet to 8-16 ounces of water and drink three times a day before each meal.

The company behind Juice Plus Booster is UK-based Juice Plus+. The multi-level-marketing company has been around for more than 20 years. This product is vegetarian, free of preservatives and gluten. It’s sold through online stores and the official website. We like using some natural ingredients and found a few positive customer comments, but read on…

No Real Results – “So Where’s the Boost?”

The first issue we ran into is no real results. “While the company states the supplement is a part of a complete nutrition plan, we found several users complaining about no solid weight-loss when using Juice Plus Booster,” said our Research Editor.

One customer reported, “Don’t waste your money. Juice Plus Booster does nothing. It might make your water taste better, but that’s it.”

But, a different user commented, “Gives me a bit more energy. I think it reduces food cravings some, but nothing drastic.”

Another posted, “I drink this in the mid-afternoon. I think Juice Plus Booster ingredients work on some level. I do feel an energy boost.”

According to the Journal of Obesityglucomannan was not shown to promote weight loss in a clinical trial. Another study published in the Journal of the American College of Nutrition confirmed these findings when noting glucomannan’s effect on individuals who were overweight or obese.

Discouraging User Comments – “Another Issue?”

Another concern is discouraging user reviews of Juice Plus Booster. One customer stated, “This stuff is utter rubbish. You will not lose any weight. I tried it for a few weeks.”

On the other hand, a different person remarked, “If you drink it before meals, you will eat less. At least it works that way for me. No Juice Plus Booster side effects either.”

“Not so sure about weight-loss. However, all of the water you drink with Juice Plus Booster and shakes will help keep you feeling full,” said another.

According to our research, if there is a particular part of a diet supplement or weight-loss drink that is very bothersome (no real results, discouraging user comments, side effects), the probability of long-term success is relatively low. If Juice Plus Booster reviews show users aren’t pleased, this could be problematic.

Are Juice Plus Booster Ingredients Backed by Science? – “Maybe”

Juice Plus Booster contains green tea and caffeine. These ingredients have been shown to boost metabolism and aid with weight-loss. With no research showing the exact amounts, dieters have no idea if there’s any benefit. This powder supplement also provides three grams of fiber, which may help reduce your appetite to some degree. Then again, maybe not enough to aid with weight reduction. At DietSpotlight, we look for solid science. When this is missing, we become concerned.

What Users Are Saying

What Users Are Saying

“I recently started my Juice Plus+ experience with the Boosters and they have been fantastic. Easy to take, definitely working for me as I’ve zero sugar cravings and I was such a chocoholic before but now I’m not interested in it at all. They fill me up and I’m very content with the Boosters. I’ve even dropped a few pounds since starting them by changing my eating habits.”

“As expected – don’t think I lost any weight though.”

“The shakes are good but the boosters aren’t. I had an allergic reaction to some of the ingredients I couldn’t swallow and I came out in a rash after taking the booster. They say they taste like pineapple I’d say they are disgusting. Even if you mix with warm water the granules don’t fully dissolve.”

Bottom Line

The Bottom Line – Does Juice Plus Booster Work?

So, what’s the final work on Juice Plus Booster. First off, we like that this powder supplement contains some dietary fiber. We also appreciate that it encourages you to drink more water. On the other hand, we have some reservations about this drink mix because it’s not supported by any clinical studies. Moreover, we’re concerned about the negative user comments we found posted on the web.

I have used this product before, with some slight success, but what alarmed me was that I made a mixture last night mainly as I didn’t want the taste of water.

I left about 1/10th of the drink on a water bottle and was mortified to see the resulting contents of the bottle when I returned from work

The mixture had turned into a quite heavy jellyfish.

Would I really want this doing it’s stuff inside me – probably not

I’m 4 months in using these boosters along with the shakes, I’ve had to stop using them. For months my anxiety was so bad I was getting anxious all the time. These boosters have caused me stomach aches, high anxiety levels & taste rank! Definitely throwing whatever I have left in the bin.
