Slimatee Review - 6 Things You Need to Know

Slimatee is a natural herbal aid and supplement. The company makes a lot of claims about rapid weight loss. But with no scientific research backing those claims and reviews stating the ingredients are not only ineffective but also can cause laxative side effects like diarrhea, we wonder if the product is worth the risk.

Our research team took a close look at the entire ingredient list, potential adverse reactions and side effects, and user reviews/comments (due to no clinical research being available) to determine whether Slimatee can live up to its claims. Read on to learn what we found out about the product.

Overview

What is Slimatee?

Slimatee is a herbal slimming tea designed to potentially support weight control when incorporated into a controlled diet, with an emphasis on increased consumption of fresh fruits and vegetables. Developed by Ideal Health through years of experience, Slimatee positions itself as a high-quality herbal tea.

This natural weight-loss tea comprises a blend of carefully selected ingredients, including senna leaf, hibiscus flowers, frangula bark, black tea, goldenrod, peppermint leaf, and mate tea. It is worth noting that some of these ingredients, such as senna leaf, act as natural laxatives, promoting regular bowel movements. These are the manufacturer’s claims and should be considered as such.

Manufactured in the UK, Slimatee is part of Ideal Health’s range of products, which includes Digestee, Puritee, Relaxatee, Laxatee, and Jointstee Flexitee. To prepare Slimatee, pour a cup of boiling water over one sachet, allowing it to steep for five minutes before consumption. For optimal results, it is recommended to consume one cup each night for a duration of two weeks. Notably, this herbal beverage is caffeine-free, catering to individuals with sensitivity to caffeine or those seeking a beverage option without stimulants.

When we took a look at the ingredients, we found what we expected. Laxatives are not safe for use as weight-loss aids. They are intended for the relief of occasional constipation. So, what does the research say?

  • Obesity Reviews – In many studies, laxative use for weight loss is talked about alongside things like anorexia and bulimia, because it is considered an extreme method of attempted weight loss.
  • Food Bioscience – “The oolong and black tea polyphenols possessed had various health benefits including… antioxidant, anti-cardiovascular, anti-microbial, anti-hyperglycemic, and anti-obesity activities.”
  • Molecules – “Some evidence suggests the [weight loss] mechanisms… may be triggered more strongly by teas that have undergone fermentation (black, oolong, and dark) than by non-fermented (green) teas.”

We are not sure when Slimatee first hit the market. However, this herbal beverage is available online via dealers like Amazon. It only contains natural ingredients. Also, this diet drink may help with constipation, but read on…

Side Effects

What are the Slimatee Side Effects?

The first concern we have is Slimatee side effects. “The natural laxatives in this beverage may cause diarrhea, loose stool, and abdominal pains. Senna leaf is known for doing so,” says our Research Editor.

“Slimatee came with no warning! This is not a mild laxative effect. I honestly thought I had food poisoning,” said one person.

“Don’t like that it causes severe diarrhea,” mentioned another customer.

However, some people did not experience adverse effects. One user stated, “No fat loss, but no loose stool, which is good.”

Ingredients

Are Slimatee Ingredients Effective?

Judging from the user feedback we found on the web, Slimatee ingredients don’t provide real results for several customers. “You will not lose fat. You will not be more toned!” said one individual.

“It will make you dehydrated and hungry. Your salt levels will drop…and then you will put the weight back on,” revealed another customer.

On the other hand, some users did not complain. One person said, “Good laxative, keeps bowels working.”

Our research has proven if there’s a specific part of a diet pill or program that’s troublesome, like ineffective ingredients, the probability of lasting success is low. Therefore, if Slimatee fails to produce tangible results in many people, this could be a deal-breaker.

Research

Is There Science Supporting Slimatee?

First of all, the natural herbs in Slimatee, such as senna leaf, can help with regularity. There is clinical evidence to support this. However, these plant extracts are not proven to help with fat loss and appetite suppression.

Although research published in Food & Function and BMC Complementary Medicine and Therapies note that hibiscus and yerba mate may have a small effect on weight, more research is needed to confirm those findings.

Therefore this tea is unlikely to help with any long-term weight reduction. At DietSpotlight, this kind of science is essential, and this time it’s missing.

Bottom Line

What Users Are Saying

“My wife and I first discovered Slimatee at a Health Store hen we lived in Wales, UK.
When we moved to Germany last year, we missed this tea in our diet and started feeling sluggish again. Now that we have been able to use Slimatee, we are feeling so much better again.”

“Got it alot quick great taste as usual.”

“Really nasty. Recipe changed. Undrinkable. I forced myself to drink 1 cup. I had to have a sweet to take the taste away. It didnt work anyway. Definitely a no from me.”

The Bottom Line on Slimatee

Okay, the moment you’ve been waiting for – our conclusion on Slimatee. Well, we see that this tea contains natural laxatives and may help treat conditions such as constipation. On the other hand, we’re skeptical about it because it has not been proven in clinical studies to promote weight-loss. Also, we’re concerned about the side effects some users experienced.

If you’d like to shed more pounds, then we encourage you to select a product that’s backed by solid science and is easy to use anywhere.

I absolutely live by this tea. Definitely take the advice of using it one week on and one week off as my body gets used to the tea causing me to drink more cups of it a day for it too work but this week on &week off works wonders. I have been using this for around 3 years but only more frequently for a year. Within the first 4 months i lost nearly 3 stone! It does give belly cramps quite badly and when you need to go to the toilet…you do need to go! Drink at night and an hour after you woken up you will need the toilet but thats all for the day..my experience atleast. Honestly amazing product for easing constipation and for me, gradual weight loss. Fantastic!

  • A great detox and fab for severe constipation!
    Nicola (Verified Purchase)

This tea was recommended to be by a friend. I exercise frequently and eat a healthy-ish diet. I have always suffered with IBS being severely constipated most of the time. Laxatives never worked in the end. As well as being an aid for me to lose a little stomach fat, I have found that this is the only product that is natural that helps my constipation 100%. Very happy with the results. Would recommend but not if you have loose bowel movements naturally as I can see it causing problems. A fantastic detox ??

I actually bought this for the laxative effects and it’s worked a treat, not a huge fan of mint tea so I tend to gulp it as fast as possible. Of course it won’t help you lose weight, no products will long term the only thing that will is a healthy eating plan and regular activity

I bought this tea, and two days later I (like a previous reviewer) thought I must have a stomach bug. Very bad diarrhoea, yellow with bits in it. I rang round my family to ask them if any of them had a stomach upset I was so convinced that it must have been something I had eaten. This is a very BAD product which I had bought for constipation but as a natural and gentle preventive. I am going back to the shop to tell them this because I think the product is very bad indeed. incidentally, since I had the diarrhoea attack I have been more constipated than ever so I think it also, once its run through you, it leaves you in a worse state.

I wanted to try this tea as I was having problems going to toilet after being on holiday. I drank the tea last night. Woke up around 4 with really bad stomach ache which resulted in me fainting and hitting my head very hard and I now have concussion

There are no warnings!. Very powerful tea. And now i feel weak.

      Avoid if possible

Susan, so sorry you experience this side-effects. Many other users have experienced this, too. Might be best to try another product. An alternative could be Dietspotlight Burn. Not many side effects reported, plus contains ingredients that produce weight-loss results.
