Living a healthy lifestyle is important to many people, and Thrive Mix claims to be an integral part of that. Apparently, this product allows you to “live more, be more, experience more, and THRIVE for more.” However, we’re not sure these general claims can apply to everyone, as ingredients like Garcinia Cambogia and oat fiber have not been proven to aid in weight loss.

The potential side effects, ultra-premium mixes, and probiotics in Thrive Mix were also considered when determining its effectiveness. To reach the bottom line, our research team compared their “nutrient-dense formula” and health blends to the product’s claimed benefits to see if this supplement can improve your health.

What is Thrive Mix?

I start by saying that Thrive Mix is a protein shake. That said, many questions are swirling around the diet community as to whether or not this is a meal replacement shake, like Shakeology and HMR Shakes. Well, to be honest here, I’m not sure – but it appears to be. The official website doesn’t include any instructions for using the product – only that you’re supposed to use it with other Thrive products.

Even the information provided on the product-specific pdf brochure doesn’t say just what the product is supposed to do. The one thing the official website does provide is an image of the product’s nutritional label, so we can tell you the Le-Vel Thrive Mix ingredients, which is a good starting point here. They are divided into two categories, the Proprietary Blend and Other Ingredients. The ingredients vary a little for each flavor, but some of the more common main ingredients include:

We immediately went to the medical journals to see what research was out there on some of the Thrive Mix ingredients like oat fiber, garcinia fruit and natural caffeine, to be exact. What did we find?

• Lipids in Health and Disease – Let’s start with oat fiber. “Daily consumption of 3 g of soluble fiber from 70 g of oats leads to beneficial effects on the lipid parameters, specifically total cholesterol and low-density lipoprotein cholesterol.”
• BMC Complementary and Alternative Medicine – We didn’t find research into garcinia and oat fiber, but we did on garcinia and konjac fiber. Based on that research, the combination of garcinia and fiber can “reduce weight and improve lipid… profiles in people with overweight or obesity…”
• Critical Reviews in Food Science and Nutrition – Then there’s the world’s most used drug – caffeine. What does science say about caffeine and weight loss? Simply put, a review of all research up until November 2017 showed “caffeine intake might promote weight, BMI and body fat reduction.”

However, the specific nature of this experience is not elaborated upon in detail.

Transitioning to its business reputation, Le-Vel holds an A+ rating from the Better Business Bureau (BBB), having achieved accreditation in 2018. It is noteworthy, though, that the BBB issued an alert on Le-Vel’s profile due to a pattern of customer complaints. In response, Le-Vel has communicated to the BBB about updated policies and procedures implemented to address and reduce these complaints. Despite these efforts, customer feedback on the BBB site averages a rating of 1.98 out of 5 stars, based on 43 reviews. Additionally, the company has addressed more than 77 customer complaints over the past three years.

Le-Vel identifies itself as a “premium lifestyle” company. This branding focus suggests an emphasis on cultivating a distinct brand identity. While Le-Vel asserts that their products are of high quality, the company’s promotional materials seem to place greater emphasis on the lifestyle and branding aspects rather than the specific benefits of their products.

The Thrive product line, which includes Thrive Mix, is part of a broader range of products offered by Le-Vel. Other products in their lineup include Thirst, Spt Heat, Spt Chill, Tac Dft, Activate, Biotic, Treat Meal, Dft:recharge, Sculpt, Blast, and Thrive Bites. Le-Vel MLM Sales Plan

Le-Vel uses Brand Promoters for marketing their products. These Brand Promoters are required to sell products and recruit new Promoters to earn rewards. Promoters must sell $100 worth of merchandise every month to remain active in the program.

Brand Promoters can choose a Starter, Promoter, or VIP enrollment package. Le-Vel does not disclose the price of these packages.

Thrive Mix Ingredients

Oat fiber is the first ingredient listed, so that’s where I dove in. Oat fiber, as the name suggests, is a good source of fiber. According to Nutrition Reviews, 30 grams of fiber each day could help you lose more weight.

Specifically, oat fiber can improve blood cholesterol and heart health, according to the Journal of Nutrition and Scientific Reports. 

The second ingredient listed is a garcinia fruit extract. According to Critical Reviews in Food Science and Nutrition, garcinia fruit, or Garcinia Cambogia, is a tropical fruit that may reduce appetite and help the body to burn fat because of a substance called hydroxycitric acid (HCA) that is found in the rind of the fruit. According to the Mayo Clinic, you’re very unlikely to see any significant, permanent loss of weight from caffeine.

Another ingredient – cardamom – has been shown to have many health benefits, including reduced inflammation, per the Journal of Diabetes & Metabolic Disorders and the Dental Research Journal.

Le-Vel Thrive Mix Side Effects

The official website doesn’t list any of these potential side effects, but that doesn’t mean there aren’t any. With such a long list of ingredients, surely some of them must adversely affect some people.

For example, Garcinia Cambogia can cause side effects like:

• Nausea
• Headache
• Digestive discomfort

And oat fiber can deliver:

• Gas
• Bloating

Thrive Mix Benefits

Honestly, it doesn’t seem like LeVel is sure what the benefits of Thrive Mix are. They do talk vaguely about a “premium you,” whatever that means. They also list “weight management or fitness” and “lean muscle support” on their website, but there isn’t any information about how the product is supposed to accomplish this.

What Are Le-Vel Thrive Mix Users Saying?

Do you know someone who has tried Thrive Mix? If you do, you’re in luck! Ask them what they think because there are so few consumer comments that we can’t reliably examine what any real customers have to say.

The product seems to be sold mainly through the official website, and there are no user comments available there outside of the customer testimonials used in their marketing materials.

There are comments, both positive and negative, on the Better Business Bureau concerning Le-Vel, but nothing specific to the Thrive shake mix.

My final thoughts are that Thrive Mix does contain several natural ingredients – which is always a good thing. There is some evidence that you could experience a slight weight-loss from the fiber content of the product. But there are some glaring issues I can’t seem to shake:

• There is a real lack of user feedback on the product
• I’m not entirely sure what the product is supposed to do for users, but research suggests a significant and permanent weight-loss isn’t likely based on the ingredients
• Le-Vel seems more concerned about selling an image than a good weight-loss product
